Chapter 19 - Chapter 19:Divisions and Brigades 1

After his explanation of the army's divisions and brigades, Titus announced that he would allow each division to introduce themselves and their respective brigades. The anticipation was growing in the amphitheater as the recruits waited in anticipation.

Titus turned his gaze to one of the turbaned men, who approached the lectern with confidence. It was Valerius Maximus, the representative of the Second Division. His commanding presence and firm voice captured the attention of all present.

"I am Valerius Maximus, representative of the Second Division and leader of the Legio Desertorum brigade," he began to say with determination. "Our great division has the important mission of defending us against the dangerous threat posed by the orcs."

Valerius went on to explain his division's ongoing work in fighting the orc outposts and the frequent attacks by orc bandits. His words echoed through the amphitheater, conveying the harsh reality of combat against this enemy.

"Our honorable commander is Scipio the African, a valiant strategist feared by the great orc commander Hannibal Barca, whom he has defeated on multiple occasions," Valerius proudly proclaimed.

As Valerius described the Second Division, he mentioned the four brigades that composed it:

1. Legio Desertorum: The main brigade of warriors and the main force of the division. These experienced warriors are the backbone of the Second Division, always ready to engage the orcs in direct combat.

2. Equites Alati: The brigade of fast-acting warriors. These swift and agile horsemen are dedicated to scouting, reconnaissance and surprise attacks against orc enemies.

3. Praesidium Paradisi: The logistics brigade. This team is responsible for ensuring the supply of resources, transportation and management of logistical operations to keep the division in full combat capability.

4. Pilum Calidi: Our mage brigade, headquartered in the Mage Tower of Urbs Potentiae. These talented mages are experts in the art of magic and play a crucial role in supporting the forces of the Second Division.

Valerius concluded his presentation with a direct message to recruits: "Our division is what you are looking for if you want a life full of activity on the battlefield. The challenges are constant, but so is the opportunity to prove yourself and grow as a warrior."

The amphitheater was filled with murmurs as recruits took in the information about the Second Division and the exciting possibilities it offered.

After Valerius' energetic introduction, Titus turned his attention to a woman dressed in a ship captain's outfit. It was clear that Livia Flaviana, representative of the Third Division and captain of the Navis Invicta brigade, was ready to share the history and purpose of her division.

With a firm step, Livia approached the lectern and turned her gaze to the vast sea of recruits in front of her. Her voice was clear and determined as she began to speak. "I am Livia Flaviana, representative of the Third Division and captain of the Navis Invicta brigade," she announced proudly.

Livia proceeded to describe her division's worthy mission. "Our Third Division has the proud task of defending our waters from mermaids, pirates and magical beasts," she stated with conviction. The mention of mythical creatures stirred the recruits' imaginations and reminded them of the dangers hidden in the seas.

"Our honorable commander is Aurelia The Oceanic, the finest sailor and naval strategist in the entire empire," Livia continued admiringly. "Her legend extends to the Sirens themselves, who revere her and fear her name."

The Third Division, according to Livia, was composed of four distinct brigades, each with its own purpose and specialization:

1. navis Invicta: The brigade in charge of operating and maintaining all the ships, frigates and submarines of the fleet. These brave sailors were the guardians of the waters, sailing with courage and skill to protect the kingdom.

2. Legio Maris: The brigade specialized in underwater combat. Its members dived into the depths to face the challenges that arose under the waves, defending the empire from the sea depths.

Mare Nostrum: The brigade of magicians, whose headquarters was located in the tower of magicians of Agrisventus Urbs. These marine magicians mastered the mysteries and spells related to the ocean, using their power to aid in maritime operations.

4. Terra Prospiciens: The logistics brigade, playing a vital role in the creation and maintenance of the empire's fleet. Talented engineers and craftsmen worked tirelessly to ensure that ships were in perfect condition, regardless of their gender.

Livia took the opportunity to mention a particularity of her division. "Our division is the ideal place for sea lovers, as we develop most of our actions there," she revealed. "However, we give preference to women over men due to the matriarchal society of mermaids, which can pose problems in operational units. Nevertheless, in our logistics brigade we look for great engineers and craftsmen regardless of gender.

The amphitheater was again filled with murmurs. While the male recruits seemed dissatisfied the female recruits were excited at the information about the Second Division and the exciting possibilities it offered.

As the murmur of excitement faded into the amphitheater, Titus fixed his gaze on a man dressed in green camouflage garb, adorned with leaves and branches. Recognizing the sign, the man approached the lectern with a confident stride and introduced himself to the assembled crowd.

"I am Decimus Scipio, representative of the Fourth Division and captain of the Vigiles Intellectus brigade," he announced in a voice full of confidence. Anticipation hung over the audience, eager to learn the history and purpose of this enigmatic division.

Decimus took a moment to assess his audience before continuing. "Our wonderful Fourth Division has the crucial task of defending the border with the elves," he declared proudly. The mention of elves evoked images of mystical lands and ethereal beings, stirring the recruits' imaginations.

"While our division is on a seemingly quiet frontier, that doesn't mean our activities are insignificant," Decimus emphasized. "We handle intelligence gathering throughout the empire and secretly monitor major cities."

The audience was fascinated at the revelation of a hidden espionage network and the covert influence of the Fourth Division. Decimus continued his speech, introducing the honorable division commander. "Our leader is Maximus Veritatis, a magnificent commander who acts as the eyes and ears of the empire," he proclaimed. "He is one of the most powerful people in the empire and is charged with reporting to the emperor and the ministers on all that is happening in our domains."

The Fourth Division, according to Decimus, was composed of four specialized brigades:

1. Vigiles Intellectus: The main brigade of spies, whose skill and stealth were their greatest strength. These skilled infiltrators were the main force of the division and were responsible for gathering vital information.

2. Exsequiae Falx: The assassin brigade and intervention unit, known for their lethality and deadly skills. They were the executors of critical missions and infiltrated enemy territories with determination and precision.

3.Tabularii Secretorum: The logistics brigade, responsible for collecting, organizing and analyzing intelligence. Their role was critical to ensure that data was available and accessible for strategic decision making.

4. Speculatores Magi: The mage brigade, headquartered in the Mage Tower of Auri Habitat. These mages possessed arcane knowledge and used their power to obtain information from the darkest corners.

Decimus concluded his presentation with a tantalizing promise. "Our division is what you seek if you wish to immerse yourself in the hidden worlds, occult information and infiltration," Decimus stated with a glint of mystery in his eyes. His words resonated in the hearts of those who longed for a life filled with intrigue and secrets to be discovered. "Here you will find access to hidden truths and the opportunity to unravel the deepest riddles. If you are willing to delve into the realms of clandestine information and strategic intelligence, Fourth Division awaits you with open arms."
