"So?" Cian continued, curious about Alice's intentions. "Is that all you wanted to say?"
"No, not quite. My real reason for asking for this conversation is yet to come," Alice replied with a playful grin.
"Out with it, then," Cian urged, eager to hear what she had to say.
"You sure are impatient," Alice teased, leaning forward with her hands still under her chin. "But okay, I'll tell you. Remember when I said I talked to the Duchess earlier? Well, do you know what we really talked about?"
"No," Cian replied, his curiosity piqued. He had no idea what they could have discussed.
