It was easy for Milan to label this woman ungrateful, but the bride knew things differently. No one in the village had seen Lasair before; not even the priestess had seen him in person. The only record of Lasair’s image they had was the drawings of a bride from centuries ago. The only reason why these people believed in Lasair more these days… was that the bride kept on getting in trouble.
He could still remember the look on the people’s faces when he said the flood dragon was Lasair. None of them were unfazed by the size of the deity. Not to mention that they probably didn’t have an idea why Lasair was called the doll-faced demon.
The church also didn’t show Lasair more than a vague portrait of a cloud of white. It didn’t have a size reference against a human, either. Everything about Lasair was too hazy for ordinary men.
