The world was cold, dull, and discolored. The coldness gripped her heart with its sharp fingers and had no plan to let go.
But then she woke up amid woods, the sky grey as if it was going to rain. The place she woke up in was strange: lots of birch trees as well as fields covered in bamboo. The fields of bamboo were so thick that it was impossible to even peer inside them.
After waking up, Zubie thought of what happened in the past hour when she was in her senses. It brought out the images of Abram's murder. She wished to chalk it up as nothing but a night terror but alas, everything felt so real.
The hues of the sun were no more as the darkness of night veiled the blue sky, Zubie was starving but hunger wasn't the foremost of her worries. She has been walking for a long time but still couldn't find a human settlement. The only thing familiar she found when she woke up was the journal laying by her side.
