-------

I had done drugs before. Once.

A hit of marijuana with Bella last summer, and even that didn't give me the high I was feeling right now.

I felt euphorically intoxicated, like I'd been parched for a decade and stumbled upon a fountain of nectar.

Scott tried to break my hold by clawing at my grip, but as soon as his hands touched mine, he screamed and yanked them away, his palms sizzling black upon contact. I noticed in a flash that the smoke from my hands had vanished, replaced by a thin layer of black flame that anyone would've missed unless they saw it from my perspective.

Scott struggled harder, his breaths becoming shorter as clarity slowly returned to his eyes, survival instincts kicking in.

His golden eyes dimmed back to normal, his fur receding into his chin.

Panic surged through me as the euphoria gradually faded. Involuntarily, I tightened my grip on Scott's neck, the euphoric feeling surging briefly before fading away.

"St-Stiles." he muttered, finally regaining himself. "Can't- Can't breathe."

I wanted to release my grip at that moment, but something inside me craved the euphoria, whispering for me to crush his neck even further.

"St-Stiles." Scott said in a hoarse whisper as I saw his eyes rolling back.

"Arghhhh!" I screamed as I flung him to the ground. Placing my hand on the lockers, I struggled to contain the rising bile in my throat.

My legs gave out, and I sank to my knees, panting, sweat dripping down my cheeks. I glanced at Scott as I slowly slid down, my back against the locker, sitting on the floor.

He coughed heavily, struggling to get up and failing miserably, his eyes watering as he wheezed for air.

Struggling, I stood up, reached him, and helped him up, before guiding him to a bench and sitting next to him with a thud.

"I'm- I'm sorry." he uttered between labored breaths.

"Yeah, me too." I said, swallowing hard, scratching my head.

A moment of silence enveloped the room, punctuated only by our struggling breaths.

"Hey." I said, breaking the silence. He glanced at me.

"We won." I said, patting his back with a smile.

He smiled back, and we both chuckled, the tension dissipating into full-blown laughter.

[Scott's POV]

My eyes snapped wide open, and I found myself in a place that felt all too familiar, a place I'd been almost every day.

The eeriness of the situation confused and slightly terrified me. I'd never been in the school corridors at night.

Okay, that's not entirely true. Stiles and I had snuck around a couple of times, but technically, I'd never been inside the school.

I blinked, wondering if this was another episode of sleepwalking. I really didn't want to end up in another swimming pool tonight.

I slowly approached the door, hoping the night security wouldn't throw me out. With everything that was happening, the last thing I needed was a suspension warning.

"Scott." I jerked my head in the direction of the voice, one I recognized all too well.

"Allison?" I whispered her name as I moved toward the sound, the opposite direction of where I'd been.

"Scott." She called my name again, and I quickened my pace. Her tone wasn't plain; there was a hint of sensuality, almost enticing.

"Allison? Where are you?" I asked, peering into each classroom as I paced the corridors.

"I'm right here, Scott." I hurried around to the back gate, and in the darkness, I saw a feminine silhouette standing between the doorway.

"You're finally here." my steps halted as I heard the voice change into someone else's.

I narrowed my eyes, stopping a few feet away as the silhouette stepped into the remaining visible light.

I blinked in confusion, muttering her name. "Lydia?"

"Finally here, huh." she said, her rich smirk evident in her tone. She walked toward me, her hips swaying sensually, catching my glance before I looked into her eyes.

She placed her hands on my chest, gripping my shirt lightly. Our faces were inches apart as she whispered, "The best man of the match."

"Lydia, what are you doing?" I asked, as if it were nothing out of the ordinary.

Her jade green eyes locked with mine in a daze.

"I said, nobody likes a loser." She pulled me close, tip-toeing to reach my ears.

"But do you know what a star player gets, Scott?"

My lips pressed together as I swallowed hard, my eyes trailing down her heaving chest as I whispered, not entirely sure if I meant to. "What?"

She chuckled, her fingers trailing down my arms, her nails grazing my skin as she intertwined her hands with mine and led me out of the school.

I didn't react, just walked with her as she led me toward a bus parked in the field.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked.

"Somewhere we can be alone." Lydia said cheerfully.

"We are alone." I stated matter-of-factly.

She pinned me against the side of the bus, raising her brows challengingly. "Somewhere we can be more alone."

She pressed the button by my side, and the bus door opened. She climbed in first, and I followed, my legs not entirely under my control.

Once inside, she pushed me onto the seats in the back.

Her lips met mine, and I wrapped my hands around her hips, pulling her close as she sat on my lap, her legs on either side of my thighs.

I kissed her, but as my face heated up, I felt a sense of familiarity wash over me. I pushed her back and turned my face away.

"Scott, what's wrong?" She asked, confused by my sudden refusal.

"Get away from me." I muttered, feeling my claws extend. I struggled to contain them, but something inside me wasn't listening, something more animalistic.

"What?" She blinked, but before she could say anything, I turned around. The fur on my chin started to grow, everything tinted red in my vision, and in the center was Lydia.

Her eyes widened, no larger than her gasping mouth. I growled as she ran toward the door in panic, but before she could even reach the front seats, I grabbed her ankle and pulled her back.

She screamed in terror as I dragged her toward the back, the darkest part of the bus. She tried to hold onto the steel bars in a final effort to escape.

I didn't let her and plunged my claws into her throat, her blood choking her as I bit into her chest.

"Arghhh!" I yelled as I woke up in bed, the bedsheets shifting under my hands. Sweat covered my face as I tasted blood on my tongue.

Running a hand through my drenched hair, I muttered in bewilderment.

"What the heck?"
