The Emperor has been successfully recovered and is still luckily in one piece.
The people were overjoyed, the effects of which could be seen across the Empire as festivals and celebrations, even if moderate due to the current circumstances, were held Empire-wide.
Humanity now re-rallied itself around their rediscovered Emperor. The ordinary people returned to their duties without fear of a corrupt dictatorship while the soldiers could once more look forward to fighting side by side with his majesty.
This, unfortunately, did not improve the bleak circumstance the Empire finds itself in.
Surrounded on all sides by a superior enemy with seemingly infinite resources, the odds of victory for the Azburgian Empire seemed to only grow lower and lower with each territory lost.
Luckily for the Empire, the nobles and royals weren't as incompetent as the people thought, hence why the Empire still stood tall against the inevitable end.
Many have come to the same conclusion, and word of their inevitable defeat spread quickly.
Adam returned to the throne just in time to give his people a sense of hope and direction, so thanks to that and a sufficient amount of propaganda, the people did not go crazy and instead re-routed all of their newfound energy to producing as many weapons and volunteering all of their funds to the survival of mankind.
They would be rewarded later of course, and anyone who panicked and freaked out would be quickly detained.
Adam suspended many rights the people enjoyed, and any jobs that were deemed unnecessary were temporarily closed down, as women and even children moved into factories, the men were already fighting at the frontline.
The Empire entirely devoted itself to survival and abandoned everything else.
The next thing Adam did was find out why it took so long to find him, to be fair, he did need to burn an entire jungle just for them to locate him.
Heads did not fly, instead, these nobles and their families were put on the frontlines, where they usually died fairly quickly.
Why put a good meat shield to waste?
On account of meat shields and criminals, all of the Empire's prisons released their prisoners and send them to the front too, usually on poor quality vessels in which they were fated to die, fighting in the hope of regaining their freedom.
Still, they bought the actual army a few seconds.
...Their sacrifice will not be remembered.
The noble's ships were confiscated for the duration of the war. All of them.
Not a single unused ship was left unused for long, as the Imperial Navy consumed as many resources as they possibly could in order to buy their children and wives as much time as possible.
To be frank, the Empire had nothing they could do except hope that someone appears and saves them.
The Imperial Fleet was successful in saving some Diats, and they relocated them to the only colony the Empire currently has, which was recently renamed Reclamia.
It has become an unspoken rule that no alien may step on Earth, as the people considered it Humanity's crown jewel.
This unfortunately meant that Lucie and Adam had to separate, which hurt Adam a bit but he quickly shook such emotions off.
He did not have enough time for such things.
Speaking of Lucie, when she awoke in a spaceship she was fascinated by everything, and casually spoke with Adam about how cool the place was.
That is until she noticed that everyone was saluting him, prompting her to ask one of them what Adam's rank is.
The shock on her face when she learned that Adam is the Emperor of an interstellar nation was enough to make her completely stop for a while, and immediately apologize to Adam for her behavior.
Which is exactly what Adam feared would happen.
They remained friends, but now there was definitely a wariness there, which only made Adam shut his heart more inwards.
Despite the Emperor's emotional turmoil, the enemy only kept advancing further into the empire's territory during the next few months.
The Azburgians fought with all their might and saw some successes, but it did not change the inevitability of their demise.
So Adam ordered all stations and anything that could send a signal into the stars to do so.
This is exactly what the Diats did, except this is on a much larger scale, with tens of systems and billions of devices sending out pleas for help into the stars, someone was bound to hear them eventually.
They just had to pray that they would be noticed soon. Or humanity might be the next species to go extinct.
...
The Emperor of the Azburgian Interstellar Empire could be seen sitting on his throne which glowed with an unspeakable glamor while excluding an oppressive feeling of power and dominance over any individuals within the room.
The young Emperor held his head with one of his hands, seemingly distressed regarding an unknown subject.
It isn't hard to guess what's troubling him though. The seemingly hopeless scenario he and his people are currently in is as good of a reason as any to be troubled.
If the extinction of your own species doesn't trouble you, what will? Not to mention he has to make all of the big decisions that will determine IF humanity disappears like countless other civilizations and races or live on and thrive.
Adam is currently unbearably stressed, but he's been forcing himself to keep it together in front of his people, which has caused a slow but inevitable breakdown.
Which is now slowly bubbling up and breaking through the surface, making a complete mess out of his body and mind.
His mind filled with the typical monologue that anyone who experienced a breakdown could relate to, such as: "It's okay, don't cry, breathe, In and out just calm down."
This does not help in the slightest though, and eventually, his arms and legs started shaking due to the Adrenaline that released itself after his mind decided that there was a threat present.
The shaking continued and spread into the rest of his body rapidly as his heart carried the adrenaline through his blood vessels.
Suddenly, when Adam didn't think things could get any worse, he heard a voice.
"Y-Your majesty! Are you alright?!" A palace maid, Adam was shocked when he heard her voice since he ordered all of the personnel to leave when he felt something off about himself.
That's when it clicked, he only told them verbally, this maid must not have gotten the orders because they forgot to tell her as she was somewhere more remote.
Well, shit.
Now what does he do? He clearly can't tell her he's fine, because both of them can clearly tell he isn't.
The added stress of this certainly didn't help his current vulnerable mind, which caused his jaw to shake violently, his teeth clattering against each other.
"Hold on I'll get help!" She quickly said in an urgent tone, from her perspective, the Emperor could have been poisoned or something along those lines, which is why she immediately ran for help.
"N-No! Wait!" His jaw shaking made him stutter, a small inconvenience that he would barely care about under normal circumstances. This time, however, with his mind completely exposed and weakened, it was enough to light the most extreme emotions within him.
A single tear dripped down from his wet eyes, which were puffed up thanks to the large amount of water they were desperately holding.
The single tear seemed to be the beginning of the end for Adam's resistance and emotional suppression, as he quickly wiped it off and more tears replaced it, causing a rapid collapse.
"Shit." He wished he could say anything now, but whenever he tried it only came out as an indistinguishable mess of sounds interrupted by sobbing.
So the only thing he could do is stay as quiet as possible and hope that his emotions reduce themselves enough for him to suppress them again.
Meanwhile, with the maid, she was stuck in a difficult position, on one hand, her instinct was to go get help or comfort the Emperor but she was hesitant to do so.
On the other, she could just leave him to cry his guts out alone in this lonely room, but she felt that he needed a hug and someone to speak with.
So she hesitantly took a step forwards, and upon seeing the Emperor not even acknowledge her presence anymore, she knew it was way too serious to be left alone.
Not that she's some kind of therapist or expert, she's not even close to such a thing, she was simply going according to her motherly instinct and seeing where it would lead her.
She walked slowly so as not to make Adam feel pressured or claustrophobic, she read online that that's very bad and should be avoided.
She slowly made her way to Adam and once she climbed the stairs to the throne, she spoke.
"Excuse me, your majesty..." Her voice was soft and gentle as she slowly spread her arms out.
Adam now looked up, unintentionally opening up his chest which immediately felt the pressure of a woman's breasts upon them, her arms hugged him tightly as she bowed slightly in order to properly hug him.
Her head rested above his shoulders, and he felt genuine human contact for the first time in what felt like forever.
No matter how perfect and masculine he might be, a human is a human.
Everyone needed to cry sometimes, and ignoring one's own health is never a good idea.
Adam finally learned this today, and he even had someone to comfort him through the whole ordeal.
"It's okay, you aren't alone..." And other such things were whispered into his ear, all of which he desperately needed to hear from another human being.
He hugged the maid back but used a little too much strength making her stumble forwards.
The maid misunderstood this as some kind of signal that Adam needed more comfort, however, she couldn't get any closer to him without...
...well sitting on him.
Feeling him sobbing into her shoulder more and more with seemingly no end in sight, she sighed.
...the things she does for other people...
She sat just below 'the area' so as not to be too intimate, even now she was worried she might be executed or something for daring to approach the Emperor like this.
This is terribly disrespectful after all.
Still, she had trust that the Emperor will be reasonable about this, and understand that she only wished to help.
So, for hours they sat like this, as Adam released years of pent-up sadness and depression, each tear cleared his mind slightly.
The Emperor seemed a lot more human now in the maid's eyes, which only deepened her respect for him.
Only after Adam calmed down did the maid pull away, and he actually saw her appearance for the first time, since before his eyes were full of tears.
She has rich brown hair, beautiful, deep, green eyes, and a lovely hourglass figure to match along with her very rich assets.
This obviously awed Adam, but it only made sense, every maid and butter had to be the epitome of perfection, or as close as they could be.
Meaning every maid he saw was beautiful so far, Adam just didn't notice due to his priorities being survival and spreading the Empire across the milky way.
So after he recovered, there was a bit of an awkward situation, with the maid unsure if she should get off or stay in position just in case.
Of course, she was as red as a fresh tomato, who wouldn't be?
