The presidential suite was luxury galore.
Everything was just like heaven, 24/7 VIP treatment, coupled with added comfort from every corner.
Without pulling my boots, I slumped on the bed, bringing out my phone. I hurriedly sent a text to Richard.
'Did you in any way request the presidential suites for me?'
Two minutes passed and my phone beeped with an incoming message.
'Were you in any way given accommodation?' - Richard.
I almost screamed my lungs out!
Why will he create unnecessary enmity between me and other female students?
'Why will you do such a thing? - ' I sent.
My phone beeped again: 'I'm asking were you given an accommodation?' - Richard.
I stared at his response and for some seconds, bolts of doubts overwhelmed me.
Maybe it wasn't Richard's doings this time?
If he isn't, who else?
I started typing, almost immediately: 'Well, Yes. I was given accommodation but a very different one. It's no longer in a lodge but in a Presidential suite meant for the lecturers and I'm having two all to myself'. I sent
'Wow, congratulations boss lady! I'm proud of your achievements. So, you could even afford two presidential suites in grand styles?' - Richard.
'What? Stop playing games with me. You knew about this arrangement or it was also part of your usual surprises?' - I sent, with lots of sulky emojis.
His reply came almost immediately.
'Of course, My love. Who else would have treated my baby right, except ME? Oh, wait, are you really enjoying their services because you don't seem happy. Please notify me about how you feel. - Richard.
My hard face immediately broke into a smile.
' Why didn't you inform me beforehand? I would have chipped off some elaborate and grandeur surprises. I don't need them. For crying out loud, I'm still a student! Now, I'm sad!' - I sent, with a furious sticker accompanying my text.
'You're sad?' - Richard.
'Yes! I'm sad because you always abandon me out of your plans only to include me later. It's not fairrrrrr!' - I sent, with lots of crying emojis.
At this instant, I felt a sudden itch, so I dumped my phone on the bed, walking towards the bathroom to have a quick wash.
After coming out, I immediately changed into a simple yet striking outfit in a bid to join a class for my course which will be held in the next twenty minutes.
I quickly got prepared, picked up my phone to while away time when a notification popped in.
'I'm sorry, my love. Get used to my unnecessary surprises' - Richard.
I sighed softly. What a caring man!
'Well, thank you. I'm feeling like Alice in her wonderland over here!' - me.
'So where are you now?' I sent again.
'In my office, thinking about your beautiful face and missing your sweet baby scent' - Richard.
I flushed red. 'But you need to concentrate' -I sent.
'Concentrate? I'm missing you already' - Richard
'You miss me too, right? You can't deny that' - Richard
'What are you doing at the moment, Vaness-?' - Richard.
Three messages, a new notification popped.
'I miss you too' - message delivered.
'Yeah. I'm getting prepared for a class soon, I'm two minutes late, bye!' - I sent.
SUDDENLY, my phone beeped again, this time with a video call, which I instantly declined.
'Why will you be going for a class now!!!!!!!' - Sent by Richard, with lots of angry emoji.
'Why can't you reschedule your classes to fit appropriately with your schedules?' - Richard.
'What are you even wearing?'
"Vanessa, PICK UP!"
The video call icon popped again. As usual, I declined.
'Oh my God' I whispered. 'An overprotective boyfriend will go to an extent to make sure that his girlfriend is safe and satisfied.
Twelve new messages:
'Vaness. PICK YOUR CALL!'
'No. I'm heading for a class and I don't want to be late.' I sent, reaching out for my textbooks.
'Anyway, don't wear a short gown or a very exposed shirt. I won't permit sharing my property with any random guy in your department' - Richard, with lots of angry angry emoji.
I smiled, reading a lot of meaning in his last sentence.
This is how any girl, in my shoes, who has an overprotective boyfriend like my Richard would receive daily:
Tons and tons of protective messages.
Phew!
That's the essence of having a boyfriend, but not any random boyfriend:
It is one who loves you, and cherishes your existence.
A boyfriend that could move mountains for your sake.
Having that boyfriend who supports you and can sacrifice the world for you.
A boyfriend who surprises you unexpectedly… just to make you happy.
Do such guy ever exist?
If you ask me, I'll say YES.
Why?
It's simple.
Reciprocate such feelings, too.
He'll love you madly.
Just like My Richard.
