Chapter 13 - Safe Haven 3

Samantha woke up early, feeling a sense of unease. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was.

As she made her way through the compound, she noticed that everyone else seemed to be going about their business as usual. The gardeners were tending to the crops, the builders were working on repairs, and the guards were patrolling the perimeter.

Samantha decided to talk to a few guards to see if they had noticed anything unusual. One of them, a man named Jake, told her he had heard some strange noises coming from the forest in the early morning hours.

Samantha's unease grew stronger. She knew that the forest was home to many dangerous creatures, both undead and living. She decided to gather a small team and investigate.

As they made their way towards the forest, Samantha couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. She knew that the forest was a dangerous place and that anything could be lurking behind the trees.

They heard a loud noise as they approached the edge of the forest. It sounded like a group of people shouting and screaming. Samantha's team quickened their pace, and soon they came upon a clearing.

What they saw made their blood run cold. A large group of survivors, at least twenty in number, were being attacked by a horde of zombies. The survivors were outnumbered and outgunned, and it seemed like they didn't have much longer to live.

Samantha and her team didn't hesitate. They knew that they had to help the survivors. They opened fire on the zombies, taking out as many as they could. The survivors were startled at first, but they quickly realized that Samantha and her team were there to help.

Together, they fought off the zombies, using every weapon at their disposal. After several tense minutes, they emerged victorious. The survivors were shaken but grateful. They thanked Samantha and her team, and they all made their way back to the safe haven.

As they walked, Samantha couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. She and her team had saved those survivors, and she knew that they had made a difference. She knew that they couldn't save everyone, but they could make a difference one person at a time.

When they arrived back at the safe haven, Samantha immediately reported what had happened to the leader of the community, a man named Marcus. Marcus was grateful for Samantha's quick thinking and bravery, and he praised her team for their actions.

Samantha knew that they couldn't let their guard down. The zombies were still out there, and there were still survivors in need of help. She and her team would continue to do everything they could to keep their safe haven safe and to help those in need.
