Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 CHESS

"Ow!"

A group of men were huddled together as they watch a match between two men. To be precise, an armored dwarf and an old bearded human.

One versus one, best of three and the armored dwarf lost with a score of 1-2.

"Hahaha~ To be honest, I'm surprised that you have endured this long. Since this is your first day you still have won a single match from me." Even though the old man won he still have used his everything in order not to loose face.

"I tried." With only two words he put the pieces back to it's original spot and stood up.

"Watch and learn on how to play properly!" With his chest puffed up, like facing his mortal enemy. Another old man with an eye patch on his left eye sat on the opposite of the bearded old man.

"Hahaha, you want to be beaten again too? Old guy, you still have a lot to learn!" With a hearty laugh the bearded old man started his move without delay!

"My first move, TAKE THIS!" With a loud shout he moved a wooden figure of a man riding a horse.

"Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! That again? Heh. I know your strategy from the start!" With anticipation the one-eyed old man moved a wooden figure that resembles a soldier with a sword and a shield.

Oohh~ With the crowds exclamation the game continued until their are only a few pieces left on the board.

"CHECK!!" With the last move the bearded old man declared his victory. "Haha! I told you that you will loose! What was that? You anticipated my every move?? HAHAHA!" With another victory the bearded old man stood up and taunted the one-eyed old man.

"DARN IT! WILLIAM! You only won cause you got your personal chess board! You can play at home, who know how many games have you played!" The one-eyed old man couldn't endure anymore and pointed angrily at the bearded old man.

"Haha~ Chuck just accept your defeat no matter what you say you still lost!" Without caring about the angry old man in front of him, he still continued to taunt him.

Yes, they were playing a board game called Chess.

"I see, so he sacrificed the queen at the start to lower his enemy's guard and used the remaining horse and a bishop to block the escape route of the King. Sigh! What a strategist." With an awe the bald old man analyzed every move of both players.

"Will they fight?" The dwarf captain who was by the side asked the bald old man. He was worried that those two guys would fight resulting some injuries.

"Oh they are fine! Their friendship runs so deep, no hatred will be born." He then reassured as he have already witnessed those two guys quarrel evertday.
