Chapter 285 - Adventure of Astral Part 36: Sealed no More

She summoned her staff as a small cyan aura flared all around Astral as his ignited back to life. He felt a rush of power as he killed five elves in one cleave with his scythe. "REAWAKEN ALL YOU DORMANT POWER!" Tina shouted as she slammed her staff down on the wall. A purple hue covered Astral as he moved faster than the elves' perception. He landed on a rooftop as he cut down three mages who all looked at Tina. They sent a tidal wave of attacks at her from all different types as she spun her left hand in a circle. A light barrier formed as it stopped each and every attack.

Astral started to hop from roof to roof as he knew Tina wouldn't last forever and her enchanting spell could only hide himself for so long. The problem became that the soldiers were far more enchanted than he would be. Each one could delay him for far too long when he needed to be faster. Each wasted second was one where the veil could drop and Tina could become exposed. Astral kept pushing forward as he looked at the count. 'Hostile count: thirty thousand' He exhaled sharply as he still had a long way to go. He kept his pace and was able to clear each rooftop in the matter of a handful of seconds as the mages kept their focus on Tina.

Tina held her barrier as it was too strong to fail even under their combined efforts. "They took everything from me, taking everything to any mage to ever live and cross their paths. I feel angered and betrayed." Tina was trying to calm herself down as she looked through the books Astral had. She started to throw out snowstorms with her staff as Astral was unprepared. The cold wouldn't affect him terribly. Then he felt a spear pierce his back, gliding through his armor and its weak spot as the spear glowed purple.

The body attacking him went limp as he stabbed it in the heart with Muramasa. Kicking the body away as Sanguine is the one who made the archer shot. He made a mental note of it as he cleared the rest of the rooftop. 'The suit failed?' Astral was far too distracted as it became chaos. Tina was causing natural disasters as he was trying his best to eliminate all that were still standing. He felt dizzy as he looked back over to Tina. the aura she gave him was gone, now it was just his that was still alive. He backhanded a mage into red mist with all of his strength as he heard a whisper.

'Don't use that spell.' He thought to himself. He changed approaches on the moment. She was going to annihilate them all inside of the barrier. 'The barrier can't hold the power of that spell! Let alone you!' Astral dashed across each building top as he sent out his own magical spell and froze the entire outside of the barrier. Astral stabbed Muramasa into a rooftop as a mage pointed his staff at him. The magic missile missed as Tina blocked it with a barrier. Astral flicked his body to the hybrids and landed next to them as he rested his left hand on the barrier and formed a hard light one with his right.

"The ultimate spell of destruction." Tina made an ice bridge forward as she walked to the middle of the city as all the other mages turned their attention to her. Tina pointed her staff to the ground as she encased herself in her barrier. "INCANTUM CREPITUS MAXIMUS!" An orb filled with red energy flew to the ground. It made contact with the earth as the entire barrier was filled with a radiating red energy as Astral held it all in place. The spell lasted for only a few seconds before they all could see the destruction it caused.

Snow started to fall from Astral's ice barrier as it held the spell inside of the city. Nothing remained as the city that was once an empire turned to nothing but ash, dirt, and dust. Astral peeked his head outside of the hardlight barrier he had formed as they dipped into the crater. Lowering the five of them to the ground where he dropped his barrier. Tina was on her knees as she held his shoulder plate in her hands. Having it hover in them with more magic. Tears dripped onto it as Astral rested his hands on her cheeks.

"You feel their pain, I cannot, you will one day pay the cost of this spell, it is not today, you destroyed everything that could have still accepted you, and lead them to change." Astral crouched down to look at her in her eyes. "But that is not today. Neither right or wrong is that spell, no matter how devastating of a power it was." She lifted the shoulder plate as Astral let her put it on his suit.

"I freed them. All of them. I hope that when my judgement day comes. If I am to face death. I will greet him as an old friend." Tina's eyes sunk in with darkness. Her cyan iris all that glowed in her eyes. Astral's hand's glowed a soft white as the snow surrounded them. The darkness flowed into his hands as Tina's color returned. She looked up and smiled. "Thank you, you will always save me." She buried her head into his chest as he took a breath for relief as the other five all stood calmly in the back.

"I will not judge you for what you did, all I will say, I understand the bitter hatred. Your power is immense, use it for good." Astral gave her a soft kiss on her forehead as he turned slightly to the others. "Go grab our things and prepare to meet up with Sora and James, we can't be late for the double date." Tina gave a soft little laugh as tears slowly formed down her face. Astral stayed by her side to comfort her as the others left the crater to grab their things.

Night fell on their return as the two climbed out of the crater. They started a small fire as Astral opened up his pocket dimension. "Sanguine, I have a gift for you, once you learn how to use it, this will be the greatest thing you will ever use in warfare." He handed over a customized rifle, its metal was shining in the night with orange accents to match her hair. "This little booklet is the manual of how to take it apart, repair it, and the most important part." Astral set down five magazines. "How to use it. This one is special, it is equipped to handle light rounds. Only use them on people like me, for they require a pure will to use." Astral set down a pure white magazine as Sanguine felt the bullets calling to her, examining them and smiling.

"Thank you very much sir." She gave a soft nod as Astral sat up in a tree.

"I will watch over us tonight, once morning breaks, we race to Sora and James to meet up and ready ourselves for the last effort that we need to free this world." Astral looked below the camp as Tina climbed up the tree to be next to him. The other four were sad they weren't given gifts as Sanguine stayed up and read the manual for her new weapon.
