Chapter 279 - Adventure of Astral Part 30: Demands

After a three day long marathon Astral arrived at the gates to the first place that called to him. He looked at the mountain as he rested a hand on the door. It flew outward at him as he hopped backwards to dodge it. He then saw a volley of spears flung at him as he summoned a hardlight shield that overcasted him. Defending him as they fell to the ground dulled. Then a beam of light struck his shield. It slid around his barrier as it struck the ground around him as Astral flipped forward and looked at what attacked, it was some sort of energy reactor that attacked him. 'I thought no one was more advanced than the Crown Jewels, these dwarfs have my tech and powers.' Astral stood still as they all formed a wall of shields for him to not pass.

Astral hopped over the back like and walked on thin air above them. With each step he created a small platform of hardlight for him to stand on. "Now, I am not here to kill you, I came here due to the logical conclusion that you have something of mine that I want back, sooner rather than later."

"AND WHO THINKS THEY CAN MAKE COMMANDS OF THE DWARVEN KING DRAINELL!" The dwarf stood at five feet tall holding a large warhammer with a shield as tall as he is. Astral drew his blade as the blue steel of Muramasa glimmered among the dwarven hall.

"I am the owner of that chestplate you have in your reactor, I will get it back. Even if I have to kill each and every one of you to do it, do not take my mercy for niceness. I will restabilize your reactor if I can get it back, and will teach you the true limits of craftmanship." Astral's threat was answered with everyone lowering their weapons. Astral slid his blade back into its saya. "Good. Now where do we begin?" Astral walked slowly downwards as he walked to the reactor core and admired the chestplate and its power.

"We had something similar before the evil witches came by and took it for themselves, then we found this and it worked." Drainell simmered his hatred to Astral as he explained it. "It takes a powerful item and uses its power to make all our machinery function."

"So you aren't using any major science behind this?" Astral sounded confused.

"What is this science? It is a magical dwarven spell that can draw power from items and use their power for ourselves." Drainell was very conflicted by helping him and telling him this.

"In order for me to kill the evil witches I will need this back, you are in luck however, I know the substitute for what can take its place. May I grab it?" Astral pointed to his chestplate as the dwarfs glared at him. Astral took it and saw how much luster it still had. "A magical item for a magical item, thats what this requires. How about I make something of similar quality inside of your forge?" Astral rested his chestplate back in the reactor as they all looked at him in curiosity. He pointed for them to show him to the forge as they all waddled forward down a hallway. A bunch of working dwarfs came to check and see what was wrong as they watched Astral be led to their work stations.

"These items I made are very powerful. However; To make one of similar power, I will need to use this thing at its fullest with the finest minerals, gemstones and gold." Astral clapped as every dwarf started to scramble. Drainell looked at him and paused.

"How do I know this will work?" The king asked with the crown on his head.

"I may not be the best at what has happened to my armor. I am very close in skill." Astral grabbed a piece of paper as he drew up the design of a cube enlaced with several notches for key gemstones. "After we craft it, I will magically enchant it to everything the core requires." Drainell watched eagerly as the dwarven mechanisms worked in the background. Astral watched as he formed the golden cube from molten metal, shaping it perfectly for the first layer as he passed it into the mega press. Flattening it to the desired thickness.

"We need about twenty six more of those cubes!" Astral shouted as the fire burned hotter in the machines around them. Astral was infusing the gold with some of his magical touch. Adding hard light to each block of gold before they became compressed. As each cube was finished the dwarves took them to the work station where diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and other key gemstones awaited. As the final cube was finished he followed it to where the gemstones were.

"How many elements do you want infused into this? I suggest six; Emerald, Diamond, Topaz, Amethyst, Sapphire and Ruby." The dwarfs scrambled and brought a cart of each to his side to watch him work. "Prepare to trim the gold blocks in platinum, take your measurements now and be ready." The dwarves ran in circles as they measured everything they needed to. Melting the platinum and adding their trimming while Astral infused each pile of gemstones together. Using his magic to make them that much more powerful.

Each gemstone was condensed into six large and perfect versions as Astral looked at the cube. Inlaying them into the perfect center of each side of the cube. The dwarves watched as they all saw in glory of the expert of his craft. Astral picked up the cube as he let it rest on supports while he put on the last gem on the bottom. The magical properties of the cube were overflowing. Astral smiled as he rested his hand on it. Shrinking it down to the size of a dice. He held it in his hands as they looked at him.

"The multi purpose elemental cube. Have your finest craftsman start working on the stand for it, use titanium and silver while I enchant this." Drainell ran off with two other dwarfs as Astral held the die in his hand, admiring it and its components. 'What to enchant you with? The properties call out to me, yet I'm left blank.' Astral spinned it on his finger tip as it all clicked for him. He made a enchantment tome for he and Hephaen to study and learn from. Hephaen. The memory burst into his mind as Astral stumbled back and caught the cube.

All of the dwarves in the area looked at Astral as he tapped his side, five books appeared on a magical ring as Astral opened up the one he needed, covered in a white shell he opened it and held his hand open with the die resting on it. He began to mutter words out of his mouth as the die vibrated inside of his hand. Each enchantment added more benefits to it as Astral overclocked the die with more energy than even his chest piece could provide.

The stand was complete as they set it in the center of their reactor as it was covered by his chestplate. Astral finished enchanting it as Drainell looked at the die. It was radiating energy like nothing they have seen before. "This shall make us kings of the dwarves!" they all raised their arms and started to chant as Astral chuckled.

"It's been enchanted to maximize its effects, boost your crops, reduce their time to grow, clean water and as a defensive item, I'd rather have no other enchanted item with your reactor." Astral set it in the center pedestal. It bore the weight of the cube as he grabbed his chestplate. Activating his armor as he put it on. It clipped back into place with its rightful home.

"This is enough to power all the dwarven kingdoms!" Drainell shouted. "We must call a meeting at once and ask for you to give us more of these."

"How many pieces of your armor do you have?" Astral asked as his suit vanished again. Showing his clothes he has had the entire trip. He looked at it as he clapped. His clothes changed back to his cyan overcoat, with black pants and his black button up shirt. His necklace also reappeared with the clap as he looked at it in awe.
