Chapter 48 - Astral's Rise Part 4: Slaughter

"Alexa, Play that thirty minute song I made." Astral spoke as his suit sparked to life, the slight vibrations being seen by it moving so fast.

Alexa appeared, "Fine, but only if I can chill with the twins after. I wanna meet them." She started to play the song as the voice said one.

The music would start playing as Astral hummed along. He knew what this was going to mean for all of them to be successful. Astral had to be the hero. He knows that this is his only time to let loose and earn it.

Astral summoned his sword as everyone else readied themselves. Once the orbs around them vanished, the click from him unsheathing his katana was all that was heard.

Astral was a blur of cyan light. He first tried to stomp a baby. Astral was able to touch him, not enough to crush him. His foot glided across the skin of the baby's forehead. Astral met the man the gods talked about, Titan. Being punched back by him Astral went the other way after they exchanged a flurry of blows, blocking each one of Titan's punches with his sword. It will take too long to kill him.

Astral then fully committed to the plan, flying around at light speed he kept picking off anyone who would die in one sword slash. His momentum would only increase the more and more he would kill. At his pace he was fine, the gods would worry due to him and Titan killing so many. As each person Astral sliced fell, Titan seemed to match him, certain people crumpled into red mist at the sheer speed that he was moving.

The blade would vaporize almost everything that he touches. He would never stop moving, making many mountains of dead bodies, all the fodder that was brought here was a blood sport for these gods outside of the true contenders. On every one of his passes, he made sure to take out anyone who was near his friends.

It seemed like each and every person he could cleave through with ease, had he really gotten this much better at murder? Lot's of these people seemed more prepared than others when it came to combat rather than on earth. He would keep going trying to keep his mind clear.

He would pass a man in a full suit of armor, making one quick slash at the armor and it wasn't even scratched. Astral knows he has to keep going forward, and yet he could see that all the armor did was watch him. Not as a guardian, but to study his every move.

The only other person he ran into that would slow Astral down. A shirtless man would be standing there as Astral tries to slice through him. Being met by a magical bubble that Astral floated through, doing nothing to him physically but turning him into a phantom till he passed through keeping his speed, Astral rolled and got back up, looking backwards in curiosity, now he was watching him as well.

The shirtless one would walk over to the man in armor, Astral couldn't keep watching he was out of time! He needed to keep looking in front of him. More and more waves of people were being thrown at him.

The two would look at each other. Both surprised by his skills but needing to be honed. "So, do you think he has what it takes?" The man in armor would talk to the shirtless man.

"It requires two things, which we can provide, he needs to be sharper when it comes to his main form of combat. That is your specialty, you can shape him into what you need him to be." The armored man would nod in agreement.

"For your half. He needs a magical component. I think you have a way to spark life into it. Right?" The armored man asked. Something didn't quite sit right with these two.

"He has something else to him, he isn't just human, he is otherworldly, no human can get that fast and survive." The shirtless man rambled on. "He has an ability that can carry him as far as possible. That's why he feels limitless."

"Because he is, I wonder what his abilities are?" The armored man would think to himself. Sensing that Astral is already snowballing by just being here at the tournament.

Astral couldn't really focus on who was watching due to him now facing mobs of many people. Everyone now looked toward him in a way to try and slow him down. His path was blocked on all sides by a jungle. He only needed to go forward, slicing through the dense vine to entangle him.

Once he was on the other side he saw the worst thing possible. A lightning bolt coming straight at him, with many other projectiles on a direct path at him. He only has one choice, go straight at it. The amount of heat he would feel was enough to make him collapse there and then. He would see nothing but fire in front of him.

His head turned to the ground and he started to fall. "Not today, just breathe and let me do the thinking for you." Alexa spoke as the suit kept his pace. He breathed in and out, his pure oxygen flow reserves in full effect.

Alexa would charge forward through the two who would lash out with more fire and lightning. Alexa managed to avoid it as she flew upward using the paws to give him a better view from downward.

She would unholster his handgun from the side and picked her targets wisely. Taking out a full magazine of people as she flew down, landing with the current momentum to keep rocking forward.

Alexa saw his vitals not stabilizing, they were in flux and he was fading more than being stable. She would just force him to keep going there was no other option other than forward.

Astral's eyes would be fluttering between open and closed. He could only get glancing looks at what was truly happening. Looking up he saw his friends, and the man that he attacked right at the start. He had to do something.
