Chapter 69 - Astral's Rise Part 23: Prelude

He would be hugged by Jaimie as soon as he got back to his friends. "Astral you did amazing!" Jaimie exclaimed while lifting him up. James and Angel would come barging in and tackle Jaimie and Astral to the ground embracing them. Astral would poke his head up and look at Anders.

"Uh, so I had a fight inside of my soul. Is that normal." Everyone would turn to him puzzled.

"What do you mean a fight inside of your soul?" Adam would be perplexed as Astrid would be reading through the tomes of magic that Mike left behind.

"Like, an actual fight of what happened outside of your soul, but inside of it?" Anders asked, writing furiously on the clipboard she held.

Astral would hold up his hand and have Alexa stand on it as he enjoyed being surrounded by his friends. "The way he described it was that he fought Magic Mike inside of his soul like how he was fighting him outside of his soul. Many spells were launched at him, and Astral sent spells back. When Astral stabbed Mike here in the real plane, he went through the blade into Astral's soul. Now he has the soul power of two people, very powerful souls at that."

Anders would write down so much in order to keep up with what Alexa was saying. "Also, it seemed like Mike was talking to a shadow while Astral was trying to walk over before realizing that there was something wrong." Alexa would draw a small digital diagram for everyone to look at. Astral gave it a thumbs up and Jaimie picked everyone from off the ground.

Adam had a bad feeling. "The shadow inside of you was probably Overlord? You two share a bond, you have cleansed the darkness from inside of you but can't seal it away." Adam tried anything to make sense of it.

Astral gave him a thumbs up. "Back when I meditated a lot, I had him shut out, but never sealed the patches." He saw the brooding darkness inside of him but it stayed quiet this entire tournament despite all of the violence.

"Astral, there are now double the souls inside of you? How does that even work?" Jaimie looked more confused than anyone. Everyone tilted their head to Astral to examine him if he changed at all.

"Magic Mike and I reached an agreement, I refer to him as my magical teacher." Astral would swipe the tomes away from Astrid to read through them for the bubble charm. Astrid would try and get them back as Astral held her back with one arm. "While he helps me hone my magical abilities to a tee."

He found it and would memorize its abilities. 'Nullifies any weather effect to the user and can be adapted to many other circumstances.' "While he can be the catalyst for the abilities. I still have to at least learn the spells."

Astral paused as he took a breath, covering them all in the bubble charm as he let loose a rainstorm from above them. "He can come out as a spirit and show me what to do if I need it. But his body is mostly buried into my subconscious." Astral would toss up the bubble charm creating a tiny lil bubble to practice. "With him channeling the magic it means that I can also use all the nonverbal spells I need."

"So wouldn't that make you the most powerful person in the tournament left?" Jaimie would look to Alexa for this.

"No, Titan is still the most powerful, he is physically on the same tier as Astral is and has the same magic proficiency as him. Let alone the fact that his regeneration and experience put him ahead. He still needs to beat the man in the clad armor." Alexa would show images of the fight and what was happening.

James and Angel would be looking in awe at the recordings of the fights, looking into each move. "Can we use these to study and become better?" James looked up at the AI

"We will do it if it helps you guys teach us things." Angel added on.

"Please?" The two would say at the same time, giving them all pretty begging eyes. Jaimie was sold and looked over to Astral.

"I record all of my fights to study my form and ways to improve." Astral would look over to the person who had many degrees. "Anders will help you learn basic knowledge while you study the films. Jaimie will gladly help."

He gave them the thumbs up as he looked at the timer. It was counting down slower than usual. And now below it had a remaining combatant counter, six left. Astral breathed out of relief, this would be nearly over.

Anders would roll up her notes and start smacking Astral with it. "I don't wanna teach Mr. Kid haver." She would smack him two more times. "Besides, aren't you qualified to teach and have taught before?" Astral would shrug his shoulders.

"Problem is, I get to deal with all of this other stuff. I will gladly help after this is over, but I am preoccupied at the moment." Smiling he would get a rock thrown at him that would be grabbed by his wings that fired to life.

"The gist of teaching is just getting them to enjoy the work they are learning about Anders." Adam spoke referencing their previous conversation on this very matter.

"See, it's not rocket science. Just show the kids what they want to learn." Astral laughed as he spoke and Anders flailed uselessly against him.

Jaimie picked up Anders and set her firmly on her shoulders. "Just kick him right in the mouth." Anders would try as Astral flipped away.

"Does this mean this fight will be different from the last. A tone setter for the rest of the gauntlet?" Angel asked as Astral and Adam shrugged their shoulders.

"If we are being fair. It just means the final match won't be a one sided beating and we won't all die right away." Adam smirked as Astral lightly smacked him on the head.
