Chapter 29 - Advent of Astral Part 25: Seniors

Their senior year they were inseparable from each other. People thought they would make it official they were dating. But their drive to compete against each other was too much. They both accepted full ride offers for Football at the best college, Georgia, they had a defense that was to not be messed with, and just needed some juice on the offense.

Their constant work showed the dedication that the two of them had to overpass each other. It never seemed like even with the full head of steam and anger that Jaimie couldn't overpass Astral, her drive made it so she was close to his level.

She was disappointed in herself for not overtaking him. Seemingly from nowhere her progress would be honed to an all new level. She felt like he had to peak. She would be driving herself nearly insane with her constant training.

This training however pushed her above and beyond what everyone thought for her and the rest of the football team. They all believed that Astral was the star while Jaimie would be the second leader for them. Considering the team around them was filled with very little talent, everyone had little expectations other than Astral breaking every record possible on offense and defense.

Such a surprise when the season started and Jaimie completely dominated everyone. Being better than Astral on defense while being Astral's main target. Everyone else around them adjusted to the system Astral came up with. Breaking all the records on offense.

Defense was a different story. Astral played everywhere and only could do so much as Jaimie dominated the secondary as the safety who ran the team. Her role was the most important as she directed the entire team on defense. Shocking everyone. Seemingly being in shootouts every week however was exhausting.

They finished the season with a winning record and strung together a couple of games with Astral and Jaimie playing out of their minds. Making it to the championship game where they would be targeting Astral, trying to get him out of the game. But he wouldn't leave. Letting off on his limiter.

The entire championship game every single one of their players would be hitting to hurt. As the people around Jaimie and Astral fell one by one. Many having broken bones, they didn't stand any chance to win the game outside of the duo's miraculous connection. Keeping the game as close as possible.

The opposing team was up with one play left for Astral. Dissecting the defense with his eyes like he had done all game long he yearned for a chance to take the hits to them.He audibles for the read option and sends Jaimie in motion.

They go up the sideline and Jaimie gets the pitch while Astral blocks for her. After she scores, they gang up on her, causing a fight to break out and Astral to lighten his limiter, he was taking people off the pile, and at the bottom of the pile laid Jaimie with a broken leg.

The refs called the playback for illegal motion. They get one last shot at victory. Astral dropped back to pass and was swarmed by a blitz. He snuck out without touching the ground and scored the game winning touchdown. They won four years straight.

On the award night. The duo combined would win every major award. Sharing each award. They earned it together. They would retire the number seven for Jaimie and seventeen for Astral. After that night Astral would help Jaimie through anything signifying the start of their dating.

Basketball for the girls team was rough. They were terrible without Jaimie and she wouldn't be healthy until the playoffs, luckily for them that's when they need her most. As for Astral, he averaged fifty a night while getting ten assists and ten rebounds. He was mad at what happened, Basketball had always been Jaimie's sport and now she couldn't do it. They were scoring ninety a night and made it to the state finals with a breeze.

Jaimie wasn't one hundred percent, but seeing Astral do so good, she couldn't be idle. She watched as her team nearly lost the first round, she came in and brought them back with fifteen straight points to help them win. Each game they would fall behind and be bailed out by her. Eventually it ran dry in the State finals, she ended up hitting the game winner, and was exhausted.

Passing out on the court after making it. Astral would rush to her side as everyone else cheered around the two. When she woke up she realized how spent she had been and it took a toll on her and she didn't do track to rest for football.

Prom was right around the corner as well, James and Jaimie were voted as the Prom king and queen respectively. They both were happy and relaxed a lot. Seeing the end of high school around the corner the two of them would live up prom night. Hosting the after party at Astral's. Being an unforgettable experience for the both of them and everyone else.

Astral did track in her honor, doing what events she asked of him. After winning state their first summer out of high school was fun they partied and relaxed for a summer, they no longer had to compete with each other, they could work together.

Constantly working out they would be at the gym. Finally Jaimie would ask. "Well Astral, did you find high school enjoyable?"

"Yeah, it seems like it would never end at times, however the difference is, it was enjoyable every day due to you being the sun to my solar system." Astral would speak as he worked on squatting a heavy amount of weight.

"Aww, how cute and romantic. It irks me how little we have done together." Purring and rubbing up against him as he goes back up from the squat.

He would stand up fully. "We have plenty of time for all of that in the future, and maybe later today." Racking the weight he would smile. "Besides, we still have a workout to do. What if I get a better time on the bar hang, and continue the work out. If you hang for longer, we go home and have fun?'

"Sounds like a deal to me. Can't wait for you to lose." As she would stand next to the bar and wait for him as he put away the weights. "When we do go home do we still have fun if I fall?"

"Maybe, maybe not, depends on how risky you are feeling?" He spoke as he hopped up and started to hang from the bar as she matched him. They would continue talking for an hour. Just waiting for the other to fall. Both of them realized they were there for way too long before Astral let go and landed on the ground gently.

"Aww, are you tired?" She asked as her arms slowly started to shake before she dropped down to the ground again.

"I am more excited to go home and have a little bit of fun. Care to join me, miss?" He extended his hand as the two of them would go to his house to relax and recover.
