Chapter 23 - Isabella Might Be The Fairy

As Isabella and Azazel arrived at her apartment, they stepped out of the car, carrying the boxes filled with Isabella's mother's belongings. Azazel, ready to teleport them, was about to make his move when Isabella interrupted him.

Isabella shook her head. "Hold on, we might have people around. Let's carry them in like regular humans."

Azazel nodded, understanding her concern.

"You're right. It's better not to draw attention," he agreed.

He quickly gathered a few boxes in his arms, while Isabella followed closely behind. They made their way up the stairs, taking care not to make too much noise.

"There we go. Safely delivered," Azazel stated, setting down the boxes.

"Thanks a lot, you've been a tremendous help," Isabella expressed with gratitude.

Azazel grinned mischievously. "Anything for you, my love."

Isabella playfully hit his arm, enjoying their banter.

"Alright, now it's time for you to take a shower. I'll prepare dinner," Isabella instructed.

Azazel nodded. "Sounds good. I'll freshen up then."

He headed to his room, while Isabella made her way to the kitchen. With efficiency and creativity, she started cooking a simple yet flavorful dinner, combining fresh ingredients and aromatic spices.

After a quick shower, Azazel returned to the dining area, where Isabella had set the table. The inviting aroma of the meal filled the room, heightening their anticipation.

"You made it just in time. Let's eat," Isabella said, smiling.

They sat down, their eyes meeting, conveying a sense of connection beyond words. The silence between them spoke volumes as they began to savour the delicious meal Isabella had prepared.

"I hope you enjoy it. Bon appétit!" Isabella expressed with a blush.

"Mmm, it's delicious. You truly have a talent for cooking," Azazel complimented.

"Thank you. I'm glad you like it," Isabella replied, appreciating the praise.

They continued to eat, relishing the flavours and appreciating the simple pleasure of good food and shared company. The room was filled with a comfortable silence, occasionally interrupted by satisfied hums.

As they reached the last few bites, they sat back, feeling a sense of contentment and warmth.

"That was wonderful. Thank you for this meal," Azazel remarked, leaning back.

"You're welcome. I'm happy I could do this for us," Isabella expressed gratefully.

After eating, Isabella rose from her seat, ready to clear the dishes after their satisfying dinner. However, before she could make a move, Azazel swiftly intervened, taking the plates from the table and carrying them to the kitchen.

"No need to worry, Isabella. I'll take care of the dishes," Azazel assured her with a warm smile.

Isabella watched in surprise as Azazel proceeded to wash the dishes traditionally, using soap and a sponge. She had expected him to use his supernatural abilities to clean them effortlessly, but his willingness to do the task manually touched her.

"You don't have to do this, Azazel. You have powers that can make it easier. Besides there is no one else here," Isabella said, her voice reflecting her amazement.

Azazel looked up, his hands still immersed in soapy water. "I need to start practising to be mortal, should in case we fail to break the curse" he replied teasing Isabella.

Isabella smiled gratefully, appreciating Azazel's willingness to embrace ordinary tasks. She waited in the living room, contemplating the ancient prophecy they had discovered at her mother's place.

As Azazel finished with the dishes, he joined Isabella in the living room, settling into a comfortable seat.

"Thank you, Azazel. Please, have a seat. We need to discuss the prophecy we found and figure out how to find the fairy mentioned in it," Isabella began, her tone filled with determination.

Azazel nodded, his eyes were attentive and curious. He understood the significance of their discovery and the potential impact it could have on breaking the curse that haunted him.

"Of course, let's talk," Azazel replied, his voice steady with anticipation.

Isabella took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. She shared the details of the prophecy with Azazel, the ancient words written in the scroll, and their potential connection to her mother.

"We need to find this fairy. According to the prophecy, she holds the key to breaking the curse and freeing you from your slumber," Isabella explained earnestly.

Azazel listened intently, his mind racing with questions and possibilities. The idea of finding the fairy who held the answers both intrigued and unnerved him.

"What do you think we should do next, Isabella? How can we locate this fairy?" Azazel asked, his voice filled with a mix of hope and uncertainty.

Isabella brought out the scroll and laid it on the table. Carefully analyzing the content of the ancient scroll, Isabella and Azazel exchanged thoughtful glances, their minds immersed in deciphering its hidden meanings. They read and reread the words, seeking any clues that could lead them closer to the fairy mentioned in the prophecy.

As the minutes ticked by, Isabella broke the silence, her voice filled with a mix of wonder and uncertainty. "Azazel, based on what the prophecy reveals, it seems that only the fairy holds the key to awakening you from your slumber and breaking the curse," she said, her eyes searching for his reaction.

Azazel's gaze met hers, his expression a blend of understanding and contemplation. He nodded slowly, absorbing the weight of her words. The realization that their journey to find the fairy was intricately tied to his liberation settled upon him.

Lost in thought, they pondered the next steps, their minds swirling with possibilities and uncertainties. It was then that Azazel's voice broke through the air, his words carrying a surprising revelation.

"Isabella, I think... I think you are the fairy," Azazel declared, his voice filled with a mix of awe and conviction.

Isabella couldn't help but burst into laughter, her joyous amusement filling the room. Playfully, she reached out and lightly tapped his arm, teasingly questioning his state of mind. "Did you have some mysterious concoction after dinner? Because I think you're definitely high on something!" she exclaimed, her laughter continuing.

Azazel grinned, his eyes glimmering with mischief. "Perhaps I am mistaken," he admitted, his tone lighthearted. "But there's something about you, Isabella, something extraordinary that resonates with the qualities described in the prophecy."

Isabella's laughter subsided, and she regarded Azazel with a gentle smile, her eyes reflecting warmth and fondness. "Azazel, you're wrong. I can't possibly be the fairy the prophecy speaks of. I had no knowledge of your existence before this, and I certainly don't possess the purity and otherworldly traits described in the ancient words," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of disbelief.

As Isabella spoke, Azazel's mind churned with contemplation. The attributes described in the prophecy, the qualities of the fairy who held the key to breaking the curse, were worlds apart from the Isabella he had come to know. The words painted a picture of purity and ethereal beauty, a stark contrast to the spirited and down-to-earth Isabella by his side.

His gaze followed her as she yawned, fatigue evident in her features. Understanding the need for rest, Azazel nodded in agreement, accepting their mutual conclusion. "You're right, Isabella," he admitted, a sense of relief mingling with his words. "The attributes mentioned in the prophecy don't align with who you are. We shall focus our efforts on uncovering the true identity of the fairy when we visit the Library tomorrow."

Isabella smiled gratefully, appreciating Azazel's acknowledgment. She stood up, her weariness evident, and stretched her arms. "Thank you, Azazel. Sleep well, and we'll resume our search for answers in the morning," she said, her voice filled with a mix of determination and anticipation.

Azazel nodded once more, holding the ancient scroll carefully in his hands. As Isabella retreated to her room, closing the door behind her, Azazel found himself deep in thought. He carried the weight of their quest on his shoulders, the urgency to break free from the curse.

With a quiet sigh, Azazel made his way to his room, the scroll of prophecy still clutched tightly in his grasp. He settled himself, his mind racing with questions and possibilities.
