Chapter 57 - 56 - Exploring the City

Victor slowly opened his eyes, blinking a few times as his eyes adjusted an unfamiliar ceiling.

Slowly sitting up the bedsheets fell off of him revealing his strong upper body, rubbing his head he pushed his hair out of his face.

Getting up off the bed he walked into the small bathroom to take a shower and get dressed for the long day ahead of him.

The room was filled with hot steam fogging the minors and glass in the bathroom.

Turning off the water Victor stepped out of the shower, his hair wet and his body slightly pink.

Coming out of the bathroom wearing only pants, he dried his hair with towel.

"Same as always, sigh." Victor sighed at the sight of Michael who not only was sleeping in but is also in a weird position as he drooled all over his pillow.

Shaking his head Victor got dressed before leaving the small hotel room, taking the stairs to warm up his muscles he went downstairs.

Michael felt something tapping on his head, opening his dazed eyes before closing them and rolling over he attempted too go back asleep but what he heard next had him straight awake.

"Sigh, I guess he's not hungry." Which immediately got Michael to spring out of bed, looking around for the food.

Then his gaze locked upon the takeout on the small table, before he could rush over to eat a towel was thrown over wrapping around his head.

"Take a shower first, your still covered in sweet from last night's workout." Victor said without any change, Michael could only rub his head in embarrassment.

"I forgot to last night." Michael could only retreat and conpli.

Soon both boys sat down together and ate food from a nearby restaurant.

"Ok so don't worry about our morning workout, as today we're going to be exploring the city." Victor said as he began to clean up the table.

"Alright then, I don't mind a rest day." Michael cheered at the thought of not having to workout today.

Although they both workout in the morning and afternoon, Michael takes it to another level compared to Victor as not only is the intensity higher but whenever he had any free time Michael would train his body.

Even now they were moving Michael still kept as much equipment for training as he could fit into his storage ring.

After checking they have everything they existed the hotel room before taking the stairs down.

"Alright boss, what's on the agenda today." Michael rubbed his hands as he thought they would sight see and try the food here.

Especially when he thought about how most meals here is prepared with monster meat and magic plants, although much more expensive.

"So today I want to go over to the Adventures Guild first so we can register and get our license, that way we can use the dungeons and enter the Labyrinths in the city." Victor explained as he lead the way.

The Adventures Guild is much like the Adventures Association in Great Star Empire in a way.

It was founded by the city for Adventures to obtain quests, commissions or employment, while also being a administrative organisation in the city.

Now if you don't want to you don't need to register but you need a adventure license in order to have access to certain things.

This is done to protect people and stop them from let's say entering a level forty dungeon when you level 5.

In fact in order to enter any dungeon or Labyrinth you need a adventure license.

So if Victor and Michael wanted to have access to more information and resources, then the first step is to get their licenses.

Then they will be able to earn money, sell loot or buy equipment in the city before they obtain their new student IDs.

"Then what?" Michael asked his hands behind his head as he leaned back and looked around.

"Well then I want to use our rewards too increase our strength before I get started studying." Victor replied walking forwards with his hands in his pockets.

"Study? Why do you have to study? Class hasn't even started yet." Michael asked with a face full of shock.

Victor rolled his eyes as he spoke, "Well of course not I have no idea what we'll be learning, instead I'm going to start learning Alchemy and Runes."

"Oh, for your ability right? It can't be that good after all it needs both runes and Alchemy to be used, it's probably going to be a support or ritual ability." Michael unintentionally jabbed Victor with his words.

But it's to be expected as so far Victor's abilities useful as they are, they not strong or the best.

But this still didn't stop Victor from wanting to learn as his mysterious Grimoire also required him to learn them both.

Distracting himself Victor started to look around the city wanting to take in the sights.

Unlike Spring City that was mainly a tourist and farming City, Dragon City was an entertainment and adventuring city.

But the biggest difference was in the cities Tiers, and it was seen immediately when compared to each other.

First Dragon City was nearly tripled the size with larger city walls, more buildings that are at least three grades better and something Victor didn't realise till he meditated last night.

Dragon City had a far higher concentration and quality of mana in the air, which not only helped with practice but also improved your health.

The houses were a mix of colours not keeping to any colour scheme, which created a unique air around the City.

Whereabouts the rest of the important buildings bar the different guild buildings kept to a black and gold colour scheme with some white, made of mainly marble and metal the city districts had a mystical air to everyone.

But even though most of the buildings had a large amount of black the city didn't seem hot, instead the whole city seemed too be cool.

Even the walk ways were completely different from Spring City, as the roads were made of a white marble with gold in the gaps.

The walkways and side of the road was once again black marble with flower beds every now and then with trees providing shade.

You would think that with the city being mainly black it would create a solem atmosphere but instead it was.. well majestic.

Traveling on the roads weren't mainly cars, instead there bearly were any, instead tamed mounts encourages litted the streets.

There were tamed monsters of all kinds, some He recognised some he didn't, but they all had one thing in common they all gave him a deadly threat and he couldn't see their level.

Even the tamed mounts and pets traveling with kids were far stronger then them both, but here monsters they couldn't even dream of fighting right now we're just... Pets?

But still this shocking realisation didn't impede them from their goal as they soon arrived at the Adventures Guild.

In front of them was a large twelve storied luxurious building with a large open entrance to a luxurious hall.

Inside was a dark wooden style hall with a air of luxury, there was currently about 300 people in the hall, either taking to each other, resting or going about their business.

It was early in the morning and there still was this many people here already but even still with such a large amount of people the hall still wasn't even close to being crowded.

Everyone here were far stronger then anyone from Flora City, which just showed how small Flora city was.

The hall was an open style design with the the ceiling left open so that all the floors bar the 11th and 12th could look down upon the entrance hall.

The over most noticeable thing was the entire hall much like the city outside was decorated with different artwork of dragons.

Eastern dragons with four legs connected to a snake like body, horns, whiskers and a mane on the neck and chin.

They were a beautiful and terrifying creature to ever meet, but Eastern dragons weren't the only dragon shown as western dragons were even more prevalent.

As there made an even more powerful image to everyone, as unlike eastern dragons western dragons came in a huge variety of sizes and shapes.

But don't think for even a second that these two dragon types are weak, as they both are apex races in this world.

Not many people have had the chance to kill a dragon and obtain not only wealth but the converted title of Dragon Slayer.

As there are only a handful of races that have the ability to fight a dragon in a one on one.

So when fighting any true dragon an entire peak raid team is required and even then out of a hundred raid teams you'd be lucky for five to survive let alone kill a dragon.

But why do people still undertake such a suicidal endeavour? Of course it's greed, if you can kill a dragon then you and your next five generations will never have to worry about wealth ever again.

Not to mention that dragons blood can be used to strengthen yourself and improve your talent. That combined with the fact of the dragons horse and their body being a literal walking treasure bag.

If course there are dragons that are friendly to certain races and groups, as you have to remember that most dragon species are more intelligent than most humans.

So don't think of them as mindless monsters, otherwise you'll be the one who only send yourself to an early grave.

Victor and Michael both looked around in interest at artwork throughout the hall.

Following the signs they made their way to a registration desk which currently didn't have any visitors allowing them to get started straight away.

Registering was a extremely efficient affair as after recording their information, during which they both had to place their hands upon a Blue Crystal Ball.

This crystal ball could tell if someone was lying or if they were wanted here in Dragon City.
