The lights turn on in a room that has a huge desk in the middle, and a bunch of cameras start recording.
"Hello, yes, this is zone news, where we cover all news that happens throughout the four zones, and the person speaking to you now is Linda."
Currently in Zone News station, which is located in Lavador City, which is best known for its delicious cookies and Zone News, of course, Linda is sitting in front of cameras reporting about the attack on Grava City.
"It has been a month since the attack on Grava City initiated by L.T.O. occurred, and still the search for survivors continues. We have confirmed that out of Grava City's population of 46.8 million, 16.7 million are confirmed dead, while 30.0 million people are still listed as missing. These numbers are very sad to say out loud, but regardless, soon the government will pronounce those missing as deceased from Geoglatic nuke and Grava City as uninhabitable," Linda reads off calmly.
Linda flips the paper sitting in front of her and looks up.
"Now following this news, L.T.O.'s presence in the world is still holding the world as we know it in fear. Just this past month, suicide rates have jumped up by a full ten percent, and new feared legends have been named more times this month than they have in the past five years. Just last week I announced the newest feared legend, Shark, who's been roaming around the Snachro zone. All this because of Cyrus Blackwood's speech to the world during his attack on Grava City."
A video of Cyrus giving his speech to the world starts playing on the screen behind Linda.
"Everything was going right in the world, but all it took was Cyrus Blackwood, a formerly deceased fallen star, sixteen hours to reduce the high population of Grava City to 500 and throw the world upside down. The question everyone is asking now is what can he do in a week, a year, or even a full decade?"
Pictures of multiple L.T.O. members during the attack on Grava City are shown behind Linda.
"Not to mention he has the firepower to just do about anything. Hunter, Death, Killer, Wrath, and Dominator are all feared legends under Cyrus Blackwood's umbrella called L.T.O. Then there are even other members who could arguably be put on the same level as a feared legend. Strout, a former Grava Academy teacher; a demon child named Ego; and Solomon Ravenshade, another fallen star. People all over are saying this group alone could destroy the world on their own, and it becomes worse with so many people starting to religiously follow Cyrus Blackwood's beliefs," Linda reports as she places down her papers.
A picture pops up of Nixion on the display behind Linda.
"Mind you, the destruction of Grava City was for a level three dagger that is rumored to lead to level three. Who knows what's next at this point? People feel held at gunpoint, and now there's a demand for a statement from Nixion, the strongest OGI user on the planet, who was present during the attack and even taught Cyrus Blackwood at one point. Luckily today Nixion will show up to a press conference in Oltador City where we will get answers. Of course, Zone News will be there, Linda signing off."
A few hours later, over at Oltador City, a city in the Grava Zone, there's a hospital on the east side of the city that currently has part of the injured citizens from Grava City hospitalized.
In room 5 on the 3rd floor, Kage is currently asleep in a bed. As Kage sleeps, he starts to sweat as he twirls and turns in his bed. In Kage's head, he begins to hear a deep, dark voice.
"Look at you. Back here again. Looks like someone actually died this time. I wonder how long it will take for you to fuck up again, or maybe you already did," the dark voice remarks in a mocking tone.
"No! Shut up! I'm not going to fuck up again! I'm different now; I know it!" Kage yells back in a panicking tone as his mind slips into darkness.
"Unknown, Tota, and then Seth, all of them thank you for talking sense into them, but all that time you spend talking sense into people, but do you even have your sense, haha! You are nothing but a hypocrite who wants to be a damn savior!"
"Please just get out of my head! Go away!" Kage screams in terror as the darkness swallows his mind whole.
"Just like how you fucked it all up for him, you watched your friend die completely powerless, and you were even too scared to get revenge. your right you're pathetic!" the mysterious voice shouts.
"Shut up!" Kage screams as he finally awakens from his sleep.
Kage instantly sits up, and when he looks down, he sees his arms and hands wrapped up in bandages, with his right hand extra wrapped up.
"Fuck, everything feels sore, and my head feels like it's in a microwave," Kage yells as he grabs the bandages wrapped around his head.
"Oh, I see you finally woke up."
Kage looks to the door of the room and sees Mr.Mink walk in with his hands in his pocket.
"Mr.Mink! Where the hell am I?" Kage asks.
"Well, first things first, I should let you know that you've been knocked out for a month," Mr.Mink explains in a calm tone.
"What! A whole month!" Kage screams with a shocked expression.
"Yeah, all of you kids pushed your limits in fighting back that invasion, so it makes sense someone like you would be spent."
As Mr.Mink speaks, Kage's hands shake.
"So it's been a whole month since he died, and I was just sitting here sleeping," Kage thinks to himself with a conflicted expression.
"Seth's death must be hitting him hard, especially after what I saw," Mr.Mink thinks to himself as he thinks back to Kage's face before he blacked out.
"Hey Mr.Mink what day is it?" Kage asks.
"It's June 15th, 2017. I hope the time jump isn't too trippy. Also, we are in Oltador City, which is the place we will be living, probably forever, now that Grava City is stated to be uninhabitable," Mr.Mink says as he reads magazines on a table in the left corner of the room.
"But it..."
"Well, Kage, we can talk about those feelings of yours later, I promise, but I think you should wake him up first," Mr.Mini remarks with a smile and points to the left of Kage's bed.
When Kage looks to his left, he sees Unknown with his head down on a desk directly next to his bed. The desk also has Seth's chain on top of it.
"Unknown," Kage whispers with a surprised expression.
"He wouldn't leave your side the entire time you were in a coma. I even had to bring him food every day to make sure he would eat."
After hearing Mr.Mink Kage looks at Unknown and smiles as he begins shaking him awake.
"Hey dude, don't tell me you're in a coma now. Wake the hell up," Kage exclaims.
"Huh?" Unknown says in a tired tone as he sits up with his mask slipping off.
Unknown begins to clear the crust out of his head as he yawns.
"What is it? Did you bring me food, ag— Kage!"
Unknown instantly hugs Kage tight the second he sees him.
"Whoa dude, you're hugging pretty tight... Bro, I can't breathe," Kage says as he begins to cough.
"I thought you were never going to wake up!" Unknown screams as years pour out of his eyes.
"Alright! Alright! Thank you for watching over me while I was sleeping, and sorry for making you worry," Kage says as he pats Unknown on the back.
"Glad you guys got your reunion, but Kage ended up waking up at the perfect time," Mr.Mink says as he walks up to the two boys.
"What is it?" Kage and Unknown ask at the same time.
"It's time for Seth's funeral," Mr.Mink says hesitantly.
After hearing Mr.Mink's words, the entire atmosphere shifts instantly to a darker feel. Kage's eyes turn from bright to empty, and Unknown instantly takes notice.
"Are you okay, bro?" Unknown asks
"Yeah, of course," Kage says as he forces a fake smile.
Two hours later, on the north side of Oltador City, a crowd gathers at the burial ground where Seth is getting buried.
Multiple Grava Academy students, a few family members of Seth, and two Grava Academy teachers showed up to his funeral.
With everyone wearing all black, the funeral service began.
Seth's father, Ronald, the richest person on the planet, walks up to Seth's casket and turns to the crowd.
"Before I say my farewell to my son, I just want to say a few words," Strout announces reluctantly.
Everyone stays silent and begins to pay attention attentively as Strout speaks.
"My son Seth was the spitting image of his mother; that's the best way I can describe him. He was overconfident, brash, a little whiny at times, but even so he still had such a good heart..."
Ronald begins to cry, and at the same time, it begins to rain.
"He always had such a good heart, but because of me, he hid it away for so long. I'm the one to blame! Then when he was finally beginning to grow further past my mistakes I let him go into such danger by himself! I'm a pathetic excuse of a father!" Ronald exclaims.
With tears of sorrow filling his face, Ronald turns to Seth's casket and places his hand on it.
"My son I know you're with your mother right now, looking down on all of us. You and her are my jewels, worth more than any amount of money. I will miss you both dearly. Please never stop watching over me and all of us," Ronald says with a shaky voice.
Ronald walks away from the casket as he wipes his tears. For the rest of the funeral, everyone who knew Seth said their final words.
Amelia, who has a look of devastation on her face, walks to the casket and places her hand on the casket.
"First Damion and then you, Seth. Both are now no longer here with me. What will I do now?" Amelia asks as her eyes water.
Amelia walks away from the casket trying her hardest to hold back tears.
"You were the one to save me from a grim life, Seth. Why did you have to go and put me back into the darkness?" Amelia asks as she trembles.
Alexander walks up to Seth's casket next with an exhausted look on his face.
"Hey, Seth, I don't have much else to say, but did my apology get through to you? You never told me if you forgave me or not; it's honestly been eating away at me, so a sign would be nice. Even if you say no, please just tell me something so I can finally get some sleep, ha," Alexander speaks with a tired tone.
Alexander inhales and then exhales as he clenches his fist.
"I guess the only brokie between us was me," Alexander says as he walks off.
While everyone says their last words to Seth one by one, Kage and Unknown stand on the sidelines.
"Hey, Kage, we should go say our last words to Seth too," Unknown suggests.
Kage looks over to everyone in a line to Seth's casket, closes his eyes, and hears the dark voice from earlier again.
"I wonder how long it will take for you to fuck up again, or maybe you already did," the dark voice repeats.
Kage pulls out Seth's chain from his pocket and holds it up, then looks over to Ronald, who is currently sitting on a rock with a depressed expression.
"Nah, sorry, but you can go if you want to," Kage says to Unknown as he walks over to Ronald.
"Umm, ok," Unknown responds as Kage walks off.
Kage walks over to Ronald and stands in front of him until he looks up.
"Aren't you Kage? The kid who defeated my son during the Grava Academy tournament," Ronald asks as he thinks about Kage and Seth's battle.
Kage stares at Ronald for a few seconds and then opens his mouth.
"I hated your speech," Kage remarks with a blatant tone.
"What are you talking about?" Ronald asks in a slightly agitated tone.
"The speech you just gave for Seth's funeral, I hated it."
"Ok, what exactly is your problem with my speech?" Ronald asks in an offended tone.
"Well, first of all, it mainly has to do with all your excuses. All that talk about how you're a bad father and all that other shit. You realize this is Seth's funeral, not yours, right? We don't care," Kage explains with a judgmental expression.
"What are you saying? I'm being selfish for grieving?"
"No, I'm saying this is Seth's funeral, not yours. Do you really think Seth would want his father talking about how much his dying hurt him."
After hearing Kage's statement, Ronald's eyes open wide.
"Wait, is that really what I was doing?" Ronald whispers.
"Don't give Seth new regrets when he's already dead; leave that shit to the living, and that goes for everyone!" Kage screams as he looks at all the people in line to say their goodbyes to Seth.
"Who is he yelling at?" a random lady asks.
"Maybe we should leave," a random man remarks.
Kage looks back over to Ronald and shows him Seth's silver chain.
"Also, take this chain back; it looks like it was important to him, and I'm pretty sure his dad should have it," Kage says aggressively.
"Wait, that's the necklace Rena gifted to Seth. How did you get your hands on it? I've been looking for it all over." Ronald asks in shock.
"I was there when Seth died, so I'm here to give it back to you," Kage exclaims.
Ronald looks at the chain dangling in Kage's hand with a strange look.
"There's no way Seth would take that chain off, so I ask again, how did you get it? Don't tell me you took off his body," Ronald questions.
"Look, he gave it to me, ok! It was the last thing he did before he died, so just take the damn thing back!" Kage screams with a panicked tone.
"He gave it to you?"
After saying those words, Ronald instantly sees a glimpse of Seth crying at Rena's funeral.
"Are you telling the truth about Seth willingly giving you that chain?" Ronald inquires in a serious tone.
"Yeah, I am! Will you take the chain back already?" Kage exclaims.
"Well, if that's the case, then keep the chain; it's yours now, so please take care of it," Ronald responds.
"Wait, you ca—!"
"That's the end of this conversation. Seth gave it to you so it belongs to you please keep my son's last wish and make sure to value that chain," Kage says in a calm tone as he walks off.
"Tch! So you want me to keep this thing too," Kage whispers as he grips the chain.
As Kage looks at the chain, he remembers what Seth said when he handed him the dagger.
"It's the last thing my mother left me before she died. It has her memory stored in it, and I wouldn't want anyone else to have it, so please try not to break it, Kage."
"But I don't get why you would leave it with me."
