Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Run

'Where am I... Wasn't I just.. Ah, right I was just staring at a train coming towards me. I think I slipped... How the heck did I slip and fall randomly... Then where am I now?'

[Meddler's System activated.]

[Quest: Escape the assassins, and go to town square within 5 minutes. Cause a scene that will make Alexander Borovsky break his disguise and save you.]

[Reward: Random Talent]

'Alexander Borovsky? Was that the name of some character in the book I was reading? It must be a coincidence...'

*knock knock knock*

"Room service." a low voice called out.

!

Danny got up slowly, trying not to make any noise that would indicate he was inside, and began to walk towards the window. He began to believe the weird screen he saw in front of him, for that person just said they were room service, and to be honest their voice sounded like they were a gangster.

'Room service my ass, I would never order fucking room service, it's a rip off! I could always just go to a convenience store and buy stuff myself... Those must be the assassins at my door... I have five minutes to get to a town square... WHERE THE FUCK AM I?'

Danny had taken a look outside the window, and realized that he had a pretty manageable escape from his room. He was on the second floor, but there was a shed directly below his window. However, he had no idea where to go. He seemed to be in a city, but he didn't see any street signs anywhere.

*knock knock*

"Sir, please open the door, we will be quic-"

"Fuck it, I'm breaking the door, this is stupid!"

The door then endured two more kicks before it collapsed, five men the barged into the room before the dust could settle, and rushed the bed. Swords, daggers, and bullets all flew into the bed at the same time. However none of them hit their target.

Moments earlier, Danny had already jumped out of the window. He was currently sprinting down a random street that he picked, and asking people where the town square was. He heard the gunshots as he was running, and he was glad he didn't stay I the room. Luckily he was already running the right way.

Back in the room, a man holding a golden handgun similar to Earth's design of a glock 37, commanded another man.

"Track him."

The other man nodded, and sent out a mechanical bird from an arm guard he wore. The mechanical bird was thin, consisting on wings attached to a thin body. It then whistled as it flew out of the room, in the direction Danny had ran.

"It looks like he's running to town square. We have to catch him before he gets there, otherwise people will see us. Remember, our employer wants this done quietly. If someone identifies you, you're going to be terminated. Hoods up." the group then followed their leader. Chasing after the mechanical bird.

Danny saw a large plaza ahead of him, and he began to breathe a sigh of relief. He had made it. He slowed down to catch his breath, since he was not in amazing shape. This moment of relaxation was what causes him not to notice a whistling sound coming from behind him. Danny didn't turn around, and that was when he felt a sharp pain in his calf.

When he looked down, he saw a mechanical sparrow pierced through his calf.

"AH! FUCK! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!" Danny screamed out in pain. He was flailing about until he saw a prompt from the system.

[1 minute remaining.]

'I have to get up, if I don't get to the town square and get Alexander Borovsky's attention, I will die!'

Danny then forced himself up. He began to hop his way to the town square. He began shoving people out of his way, and started screaming.

"HELP THERE ARE ASSASSINS AFTER ME! THEY ARE GOING TO KILL ME! PLEASE HELP! HELLLLLP!"

His voice began to crack from the screaming, and even with all his yelling, no one was turning to help him. Actually, the only thing it did was make people avoid him further. The sad truth, was that they did not have the strength to help him, they would only be killed trying to help someone they didn't know.

However there was one person in the crowd who did not move out of the way. He was wearing a large hood, and have his entire body covered in a poncho. He also had a sword by his side. He stood tall, in the center of the street, blocking Danny's path.

Danny saw the man in front of him, scared he began to backpedal, for he believed this hooded man to be an assassin. However the man instantly appeared before him, and grabbed Danny's shoulder.

"I'm here to help you. Stand back. I'll deal with these trash."

Danny's eyes went wide.

'This must be Alexander! I'm saved.'

At that moment, five men wearing hoods appeared. Their faces hidden, and they all had their weapons drawn. Alexander did the same, and Danny stood by with a smug look on his face. Alexander Borovsky was a retired hero in the book, who had been a former hero in the war that took place in the prologue, and was an undefeated swordsman. These random assassins were not his match.

"Get out of the way. Our business is with the boy, not you. Move or your life will be forfeit as well." the man with the gun said.

'You idiots...' I thought to myself, however my smile disappeared when I saw a bullet pierce through the head of the man in front of me.

'Did Alexander Borovsky just get killed by a gun? He's a super human, how...'

[30 seconds left.]

'THIS DICKHEAD WASN'T ALEXANDER!'

"SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!" I began pleading, looking around, however no one moved. I then had to resort to a direct approach.

"YOU BETTER STOP HIDING AND HELP ME OR YOUR DREAM OF RECREATING THE MIRACLE GUILD DIES HERE!"

"Kill him."

With that command four of the hooded figures sprinted towards me with weapons drawn, however the moment the daggers and swords flew for my neck, a figure blurred from the side. All four assassins then had their heads roll to the floor, and a man was now standing before me. He had blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. He had a large scar on his forehead, and he had a menacing look in his eyes. Those eyes were now directing their menace towards me.

"How did you know I was here, and how do you know about the Miracle guild?" the man asked me. He towered over me, and from his speed earlier I knew I had to have a good reason otherwise he might kill me here.

"I can't tell you how I know but I can help you! There is a reason your plan will fail, and I can tell you that in exchange for saving me today! However, not here, somewhere private." I said quickly, before he decides to abandon me and run.

'...' Alexander was in thought for a moment, before his arm blurred and the next moment the fifth man who was running fell over. His torso split at the waist, falling to the ground.

"Follow me." Alexander said before walking back in the direction of the inn I had just left.

[Quest complete.]

[Assassination Talent has been rewarded.]

I swiped away the screens in front of me, and hobbled after Alexander. As we passed by the men, I bent down and looted their belongings. I took two daggers, a few throwing knives, the arm guard that went with the mechanical bird in my calf, and the gun from the leader. He had two extra magazines on him, so I took those and his holster. Alexander only glanced at my actions for a moment before continuing to walk.

I had a hard time following him, and I was sweating from hopping the whole time. Eventually we came to a residential area, and Alexander pulled me into a small house.

He threw me onto a couch, and sat in a large chair across from me.

"Start."

I took a deep breath and calmed myself. I knew Alexander's personality. He was ruthless to his enemies, and kind to his allies. I needed to make him understand that I was an ally.

"The current king... He is dead. I do not mean that he has stopped breathing, however he is brain dead. He is only being kept alive so that others may rule in his name. The Minister, the Pope of the Holy Church, and leader of Vanity the criminal organization are the ones behind this. You want to recreate Miracle... There is no way they will let you... Miracle was once the greatest guild, where the strongest people all gathered, and you guys saved the world together. Bring peace and order back by taking the roles of world leaders... However that is exactly what your enemies do not want. When you establish your guild, you will be branded as a traitor and a heretic. Your guild will be labeled as a demonic cult, and you will be hunted... Unless you have me help you."

I looked directly into Alexander's eyes. I knew what I just said was a lot, that was hard to believe, but I hoped he would believe me. I only retold what happened to him in the book, however I didn't reveal everything I knew.

Alexander Borovsky in the book was a man who experienced exactly what I said, however his story did not end with him dying. He had managed to meet a charming group of young geniuses, who held the same ideals as him. He raised them, training them to become masters of combat, and they became the new Miracle. They worked together to slowly chip away at the hold the dark forces of the city held, and eventually liberated the country. They led a revolt, and eventually they gained freedom again, crowning a new king.

The new king was the protagonist of the book, and I knew how to find him. I knew what his moves would be, I knew future events, and I even remembered hidden treasures around the world. I knew so many secrets. I just needed to convince Alexander here and-

"I don't believe you."

'Huh?'

"I-what do you not believe?" I asked, dumbfounded.

"How could the king be brain dead? My good friend, Roy Marvelin the king, has incredibly Regeneration. He has the capability to love for thousands of years, much less the past 50." Alexander began to stand up. "Now get out. If I have my identity revealed, I will come find you and kill you first."

I gulped, because I knew he meant it. However I couldn't just leave, I was already in this world, and I knew too much valuable information to just sit on my hands and watch others benefit from it.

"No wait! Please, I know where it is!" Alexander stopped walking towards the door. I knew I had to strike while the iron was hot. "Her grave... You buried her under the tree where you both met, in your home town."

Alexander slowly turned around. He didn't say anything, but his mood had turned somber. He sat down without saying anything.

"I'm sorry, I really cannot say how I have this information, but trust me when I say I want to help you!" I pleaded. When he said he didn't believe me, I feared that I would live a normal life... I was afraid of living another mundane life, I don't know why I was here but I wanted to use my knowledge to live a better life.

"..." Alexander was deep in thought. It was only five minutes before he spoke, however it felt like an hour to me. "What do we need to do first?"

He said 'we'! I was smiling now.

"First we need to make the guild under someone else's name. We can use mine for this, because your identity will be investigated, and then your cover will be bone. Additionally, you have to recruit young powerhouses. All of the old Miracle guild are dead, and you're the only one left. You're not enough, we need some young impressionable people, who we can mold into heroes... Alexander Borovsky... Help me... enroll into the Academy."
