Hao Gongming glanced at the extensive information displayed on her system interface. Two weeks ago, she had ventured into the jungle to hunt monsters for experience points, but there were few Yin Yang Transformation monsters left, so her expedition turned out mostly fruitless.
She had some theories as to why this jungle was teeming with monsters.
Known as the Dark Jungle, it sprawled across several countries. When she delved deep into its core, she found a vast expanse of barren land devoid of trees or vegetation for thousands of kilometers.
In the center, monsters would suddenly appear, and just as quickly, the land would swallow them up. Most of the monsters she encountered in its core met this fate.
Realizing the danger, she decided to refrain from going near the center and focused her hunting efforts on the outskirts instead.
As for why monsters would appear, she didn't know, but some managed to escape. That might be the reason why there are so many powerful monsters in that jungle.
Sighing, she set aside these thoughts and called for Kang, her chef who prepared delicious food for her. While she had access to professional and even immortal cultivator chefs, she had developed a fondness for Kang's culinary creations.
Kang was a talented boy who enjoyed painting and writing poems, and Hao Gongming believed he had the potential to become a skilled scholar in various fields.
Kang soon arrived with the food, and Hao Gongming inquired, "Did you select the people I requested?" Yan Kang replied expressionlessly, "I did, Gongming. I have chosen the most handsome boys in the sect for you."
Hao Gongming then said, "Teach them art, cooking, dancing, and various other forms of art. Cultivation is not a priority; that can be improved with pills. Focus on the tasks I assign you."
Kang, who was now familiar with her preferences, nodded and departed.
Hao Gongming then summoned Peng, who appeared drowsy. She informed him of her plan to create a large bed that could accommodate hundreds of boys and put him in as the leader of bedroom.
She also had instructed Su to select other lazy boys similar to Peng.
Assuring Peng that he could sleep all day once the bed was ready, she emphasized that cultivation was not a concern since pills could resolve any issues.
Peng, with his sleepy eyes, responded, "Okay..."
Hao Gongming continued, "When the bed is ready, I will come and sleep there with you every night. Don't worry; you will see me more often than most people here. I promise to sleep near you."
Peng, with one eye closed, replied, "Alright."
He then lay down on the ground and fell asleep.
Hao Gongming smiled kindly and instructed a few harem members to assist him in getting to his bed.
Next, she summoned Su.
As he arrived, su asked, "Do you have any orders?"
She expressed her need for him to become stronger quickly, as she required someone capable to handle important tasks.
She emphasized the need of powerful disciples in the sect.
Su, appearing serious, inquired about her plan.
Hao Gongming explained, "Cloudy Sky Sect will soon send a substantial amount of resources. While most of them will be for Qi Condensation and Foundation Establishment, I specifically requested higher-grade pills. Choose the 100 most talented individuals in cultivation. Once the resources arrive, prioritize their progress to reach Core Formation. You should aim to reach Nascent Soul as soon as possible to handle your responsibilities."
Su responded with utmost seriousness, "Gongming, I will definitely select the most talented individuals for this task."
Hao Gongming exclaimed, "Good! And once you reach Nascent Soul, we'll expand to neighboring provinces and recruit more disciples."
Su, with a serious expression, voiced his concerns, "But Gongming, the deal with Cloudy Sky Sect clearly states that we only have control over this province."
Hao Gongming said, "Who cares about the deal? We'll do what we want."
Su remained unconvinced.
Hao Gongming reassured him, saying, "Don't worry about these matters. Now go and do what I told you."
After Su left, she sighed and sat in her seat, contemplating ways to expedite the growth of her harem.
One month later
the resources sent by Cloudy Sky Sect arrived and were handed over to Su.
As the de facto manager of the sect, he was responsible for distribution and overseeing all tasks. He assembled a group of 100 individuals, primarily girls, with the goal of cultivating them to reach Core Formation.
Su devised different ranks for the disciples, with the highest being direct disciples. Only three people held this rank: Su, Yan Kang, and Han Peng.
The next rank was Core Disciples, comprising the 100 individuals selected by su to reach Core Formation. They received the best resources available.
Next Inner Disciples, consisting of group leaders and those with acceptable talent.
Outer Disciples encompassed those with the potential to reach the peak of Qi Condensation.
The lowest rank was Handyman Disciples, who received no immortal resources and were assigned menial tasks such as cleaning and cooking. They were trained in mortal martial arts.
Additionally, Su established contacts with the Inferno Sect and other immortal powers. He made agreements with them to repair the sect's gates and other damaged structures.
However, repairing the formation proved challenging, and Su personally communicated with Cloudy Sky Sect regarding this matter.
Tan Su approached everything with great seriousness and careful consideration, allowing Hao Gongming to relax in the newly constructed "Sect Master Bedroom."
Located in the center of the sect, the bedroom occupied a significant area and featured luxurious furnishings, including a massive bed capable of accommodating hundreds of people.
Following Hao Gongming's orders, lazy individuals, regardless of talent, were selected and relocated to this bedroom.
Hao Gongming herself would always sleep there. Rumors circulated about the activities that took place in the bedroom, but no one dared to speak openly due to her formidable strength.
…
Hao Gongming gazed at Su with affectionate eyes. Recognizing his exceptional capabilities and his willingness to handle the burdensome tasks, she decided to reward him. "Su, tonight, come to the bedroom. I want to reward you personally!"
Su, making an unusual expression, quickly shook his head. "Hongming, the workload of this sect is heavy. I apologize, but I lack time."
Hao Gongming replied, "Whenever you have time."
After some thought, Su said, "First, let the sect mature and establish control over the country. It's beneath you, Hongming, to limit ourselves to just one province with your powers."
Hao Gongming asked, "Did you send disciples to neighboring provinces?"
Su confirmed, "Yes, I did, but due to their weak cultivation, the information we receive is limited."
Impatiently, Hao Gongming inquired, "When are they going to repair the formation? If the formation is repaired, I can leave here safely without worrying about all of you being endangered by monsters. Send another letter to Cloudy Sky Sect, stating that if the formation isn't ready within a month, I will tear them apart!"
Su said seriously, "Gongming, should I write those words verbatim?"
Hao Gongming responded, "I don't care how you write it. Just make it clear that the formation must be repaired within one month."
Su nodded in acknowledgment and left.
…
Cloudy Sky Sect Continental Headquarters
In a conference room filled with supreme elders of the sect, all of whom were at least at the Ascendant Stage of cultivation, important matters were being discussed.
"Heavenly Road Sect has taken control of Wan Province in Sun Country. We cannot allow this to go unchallenged. Wan Province holds vast resources of high-grade spiritual iron ore, perfect for crafting flying swords," spoke an elder with a black beard, who had reached the Yin Yang Transformation stage.
"But we are currently in neutral terms with Sun Country. We cannot simply attack them. Let us first inform them and propose a joint attack," suggested an old man at the Ascendant Stage.
"That will only waste time! Sun Country is weak, and they won't be of any help to us," replied the elder with black hair, expressing his impatience.
There was a supreme rule in the Cloudy Sky Sect that applied within the conference room: everyone was equal and allowed to speak freely. Individuals were selected based on their intelligence rather than their power. This rule fostered effective debates and deliberations, as weaker members felt comfortable expressing their opinions.
After much back and forth, it was decided to send an envoy to Sun Country. If Sun Country didn't respond promptly and positively, Cloudy Sky Sect would launch a unilateral attack.
Then, a woman who had reached the Ascendant Stage and was sitting at the head of the conference room brought up the next matter, which was related to Hao Gongming.
As soon as Hao Gongming's name was mentioned, the atmosphere in the conference room turned sour, as if they despised hearing that name.
"What does this woman want now?" asked a young-looking woman at the Yin Yang Transformation stage.
"She demands that we repair the headquarters' formation in Yin Province," explained the older woman.
"Are you kidding me? First, she forcefully takes over the headquarters, and now she wants us to repair it? Is this some kind of joke?" remarked a young man with red hair at the Yin Yang Transformation stage.
A young-looking woman with golden hair and blue eyes spoke up, "Let's agree to this request. According to my spies, almost all the monsters in the Dark Jungle have disappeared. I suspect it's the work of this woman. If that's the case, she must be at least at the Half-Step Imitating Realm. We absolutely cannot provoke such a person."
Her words had a profound impact on everyone in the room.
The Imitating Realm was the second step of cultivation, and even within their entire sect, only their great ancestors, who were not even on this planet, had reached that level. These individuals would not involve themselves in trivial matters, and unless it concerned the loss of the entire planet, they would not act.
No one spoke further, and they decided to swallow their pride and repair the formation as requested.
...
A month later, Hao Gongming smiled as she observed the newly repaired formation. It was even better than before and could withstand several attacks from a Yin Yang Transformation cultivator, according to her estimation.
She tested the formation multiple times and found no issues.
She handed control of the formation to Su, who stood nearby, and said, "While I'm gone, protect the sect with this formation."
Su agreed with a serious expression on his face.
Hao Gongming continued, "Su, I really wanted to reward you. It's a shame you declined."
After saying that, she moved so quickly that it appeared as if she had teleported.
Su looked in the direction she had gone, his face filled with seriousness.
This time, Hao Gongming was going to other provinces to recruit disciples and acquire resources. If she succeeded, Su's work would become much more complicated. He decided to select individuals skilled in administration and appoint them as his deputies.
With that in mind, he turned back and began planning.
