Chereads / OMNITRIX (DC) / Chapter 73 - CHAPTER 73

Chapter 73 - CHAPTER 73

At three in the morning, Titan Tower, in Yuri's room.

Yuri sat alone in front of his private computer, focused on watching the videos playing inside.

The video showed the previous battle scenes of the Teen Titans.

Each person had special close-up shots, along with various data, including strength, defense, speed, agility, and intelligence...

As for how these videos were recorded, it was all thanks to Yuri's early addition of the recording function to the omnitrix.

Modifying the omnitrix's original functions was not an overnight task, but adding new functions that did not violate the underlying logic was quite simple.

Yuri's proposal for everyone to have a fight wasn't just to strengthen their relationships; it was also to test each person's abilities preliminarily.

Of course, under the current circumstances, no one would really go all out, so the predictive value of the ability data was limited.

Moreover, even if they could predict the superheroes' limits, they would probably have a burst of power at critical moments, surpassing their own limits.

However, Yuri could still judge their reactions under different circumstances based on their performance and behavioral habits, as well as determine the roles they would play in team cooperation.

More importantly, he was searching for their weaknesses.

"Conner's strength is the most powerful among all, even Four-Arms might be inferior in strength. No wonder he's a clone with Superman's genes. I wonder if he has Superman's heat vision, x-ray vision, and freeze breath. If he possesses all of these, he's like a teenage version of Superman."

Yuri watched the battle scene between Superboy and Wonder Girl, lost in thought. "It seems that Conner has some special feelings for Cassie beyond friendship..."

"Bart has great potential. He has a natural affinity for the Speed Force, almost born to be a speedster. However, he's too naive, and simple tactics can easily deceive him, making him an easy breakthrough point for the enemy..."

"Tim's mind is quite agile, with excellent tactical thinking and adaptability. He's suitable to be a leader, although his direct combat abilities are optional. But it wouldn't surprise me if he uses powerful weapons."

"Cassie's strength is second only to Conner's, and her combat skills are the strongest. In actual combat, she might be even more valuable than Conner. However, her weakness is... she's easily affected by her emotions."

"Gar has pretty good abilities, but unfortunately, he doesn't have much of a brain..."

Meanwhile, as Yuri studied the data of the Teen Titans, Tim was also not idle.

Unlike Yuri, who locked himself in his room, Tim boldly sat cross-legged on the sofa in the Titan Hall, placing his private computer on his lap.

The content he was browsing was quite extensive, mainly Gotham City's criminal case files, whether it was ordinary humans or superhumans; he went through all of them.

This was one of the compulsory courses set by Batman for every Robin. Only by deeply understanding each criminal's modus operandi and motives could they better execute detective work.

Tim didn't know whether Nightwing and the deceased Robin had successfully completed this mission, but for Tim personally, he was deeply immersed in it.

Apart from that, he was also reading an email signed by "The Disruptor" and replied to another email.

After going through all the case files, Tim stared at the computer screen for a long time, his brows almost furrowing together, as if he was struggling with something.

He reached onto his pocket and felt the fragments shot out by Diamondhead were still there, not vanishing with time.

Just as Tim was about to take out the fragments to examine them, footsteps suddenly echoed, and he immediately stopped his action.

"Cassie? Oh, Robin! Sorry... um... you're not asleep yet?"

Conner walked over, rubbing his eyes.

"It's only three o'clock," Tim replied expressionlessly.

"Has Batman taught you how to stay up all night? I mean, Batman allows you to stay up this late?"

Conner expressed his utter shock, considering he had a strict rule to be in bed before eleven o'clock.

"I just felt a bit stuffy staying in the room, so I came out to check my email. What did you want to say?" Tim asked.

"... I want to ask you, why are we willingly here?"

Conner fell silent for a moment, then asked, "Superman told me that the Justice League won't interfere with the Teen Titans' lives, and I can enjoy full freedom here, but that's not the reason why I came."

"I didn't come here because of Superman's request."

"I..." Tim hesitated for a moment, then continued, "I've also asked myself this question."

"The Titan Tower is Nightwing's territory. I don't want to follow in Nightwing's footsteps. Batman even allowed me to fly the Batwing to convince me, but deep down, that's not the reason why I came."

Conner placed his hand on Tim's shoulder and said earnestly, "None of us came here just because our mentors told us to. Yet, we all came. Why is that?"

"Because we are friends, right? You have to give me a reason to stay here, Tim."

Tim turned away from Conner, a slight smile forming at the corner of his mouth, as he softly said, "You're smarter than you look."

Upon hearing this, Conner also smiled.

Ding!

Just then, Tim's computer suddenly made a sound, indicating that he received an email.

"She replied so quickly?" Tim thought to himself and immediately lowered his head to look at the computer screen.

"What! This is—"

Suddenly, Tim couldn't help but exclaim, and his reaction startled Conner behind him.

Conner also leaned over to look at the screen, and in the next moment, his pupils contracted.

The two of them looked at each other in silence and didn't speak for a long time...

Two days later, on Sunday evening.

To Yuri's surprise, the Teen Titans hadn't been involved in any hero activities these two days, nor did they have idle time patrolling around San Francisco.

Most of their time was spent training, improving their combat abilities and tactical cooperation. Besides that, they did whatever they wanted, and Starfire didn't ask too many questions.

Superboy and Wonder Girl could only stay at the Titan Tower for two days, so by Sunday night, they had all left.

Only Starfire, Beast Boy, and Yuri remained.

Starfire's values often differed from those of Earthlings, for example, she couldn't understand why Earthlings found nudity shameful. She loved to expose her skin, so her uniform looked quite revealing.

In her leisure time, Starfire enjoyed sunbathing, taking care of her extraterrestrial pets, and tending to the rare Tamaranian plants growing in the Titan Tower's garden.

As for Beast Boy...

"What do you usually do?" Beast Boy was lying on the couch in the Titan Hall, in front of a 75-inch TV, watching the show "Humans and Nature."

Yuri frowned, wondering how the hell this guy could watch the Discovery Channel for more than three hours without getting tired of it.

"Hey, Yuri, want to watch TV with me?" Beast Boy invited Yuri while keeping his eyes on the TV.

Yuri shook his head faintly, "If you're not busy, how about showing me around?"

Beast Boy continued to stare at the TV and asked, "Where do you want to go?"

"The Star Labs."

Yuri replied and walked to the TV, pretending to press the power button...
