"Kid Flash, get behind me."
Faced with twenty machine soldiers, Wally's expression was serious as if facing a really dangerous enemies.
Yuri, however, suddenly grabbed Wally's shoulder and told him to back off.
"You want to take care of them all by yourself?"
Wally looked at Yuri suspiciously.
The only answer he got was Yuri smiling confidently at him and then reaching out to slap his hand on his omnitrix.
With a flash of light, Yuri's body began to wriggle. His lava-like features then turned into black.
Soon, a humanoid creature with a black back and white front, with green electronic patterns all over its body, appeared before Wally's eyes.
The creature had a rounded head and no facial features, except for a green circle.
Upgrade, of the race Galvanic Mechamorph, is essentially an artificial race with the ability to fuse with machinery, freely altering its structure while fused, but no matter what it is changed into, once the fusion is undone, the machinery reverts back to its original form.
It is worth noting that the alien fuses with all kinds of machinery, not just limited to cybernetics.
"Oh sweet! Just how many kinds of aliens can this guy transform into?"
Wally couldn't help but think as he looked at the new face in front of him.
*Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!*
At that very moment, twenty more lasers were shot over, each one aimed at Wally.
The robot soldiers held up their laser guns, firing at Wally as they moved towards him.
Wally quickly connected to the Speed Force and easily dodged each laser.
On the other hand, Yuri, now as Upgrade, suddenly turned into a goo-like substance, and the whole thing became floppy, jumping from laser to laser in a thin arcing form.
At the same time, Yuri shielded himself from the machine soldiers detection so that they would not notice his movements.
Upgrade then jumped incredibly fast, reaching the front of a android soldier in just over ten seconds.
Upgrade then used his natural ability–Fusion.
Upgrade instantly burrowed into the first machine soldier, and then his sticky glue-like body instantly invaded all of the machine soldier's circuits.
Black outer skin and green circuits covered the outer layer of the machine soldier.
The fusion not only allowed Upgrade to gain control of the machine, it also gave the robot a temporary upgrade to all of its systems, with more powerful weapons and higher armour defence.
Unless they were AIs with independent personalities and high intelligence, normal super-AIs were small toys that could be controlled at will in front of Upgrade.
The intelligent system that the blacksmith had gotten was not even enough to reach the level of a super AI, so these robots were quickly manipulated by him in an instant.
The other nineteen robots did not know that the first one had been infected and were still trying to attack Kid Flash.
Yuri then controlled the robot and turned his gun, firing a laser blast at the second soldier behind him.
A ten-centimetre diameter pillar of green light instantly pierced through its control core and the robot immediately stopped functioning.
It was then that the robots reacted to the fact that one of their companions had betrayed them.
"Under attack! Warning! Under attack! Destroy target!"
Eighteen lasers hit the robot at the same time, a blow that would definitely damage the armour even if it had been upgraded by Upgrade.
And the reality was even worse, because the robot was blown into smithereens.
"Traitor eliminated, continue attacking, target: Kid Flash!"
After destroying their rogue comrade, the remaining eighteen machine soldiers once again set their sights on Wally.
*Boom!*
At that moment, the control core of another robot was suddenly shattered.
The attack was launched by the second robot whose control core had already been destroyed by the then-possessed robot.
It turned out that after controlling the first one and destroying the second one, Yuri had unfused with it and hacked into the second robot's system.
Then it was time to do the same thing again.
*Bang!*

The robots gathered fire to destroy the second machine soldier, then the third machine soldier suddenly reversed and destroyed the fourth, then the fifth, sixth and seventh ...
This bizarre situation soon disrupted the intelligent system of the robots, which was only capable of simple judgment, and they thought that every robots except themselves had the possibility of mutiny.

"How on earth did he do that?"
Wally couldn't figure out how Yuri had achieved all this, it didn't seem like the normal things that he have already seen, and that's saying something since he had already seen a lot of incredible things.
After a few minutes, all the robots were destroyed.
Upgrade then released its fusion with the last robot and regrouped to stand in the middle of the robots' wreckage.
"I have to admit, you're pretty cool, man!"
Wally said jovially as he came to Yuri's side.
"I wouldn't be as happy as a fool even if you compliment me."
Yuri said, the circles on his face starting to flicker in time with the frequency of his words, and his voice turning electronic and magnetic.
"Now, it's time for us to settle the score with the blacksmith."
Wally nodded, then with a sudden smug smile he offered, "I'm fast, can you keep up? Do you need me to take you with me? Don't worry, my Speed Force field will protect us from air resistance."
"By the way, what was the name of that fast alien of yours? Accelerate? It is indeed fast, but it's nowhere near as fast as me."
The last time he was in the Iron Heights prison, Wally had seen XLR8, so he knew how fast it was.
"But still, I don't know what tricks the blacksmith is up to, and the sooner we find her, the sooner Midtown will be back to normal, so we need to hurry."
Wally said as he extended an invitation to Yuri.
"Come on, step into my speed force field."
Yuri gave him a faint look before placing his hand on the omnitrix without a word.
As soon as he saw this action of Yuri's, Wally's heart thudded.
He didn't think Yuri as a petty hero, after all, they really needed to hurry up and end the crisis in Midtown now.
But with what he's doing.. does that mean ... he have faster transformations?!
Wally blinked and looked at Yuri in a dumbfounded way.
The latter smiled faintly.
"XLR8, 2.0."
