Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

Though Raizel didn't seem to care, Bella watched his every move intently. She noticed that he was acting a bit out of character, toying with a strange-looking ring adorned with a blue jewel while his other hand remained in his pocket. But what intrigued her even more was the ring itself, which seemed to emit an unusual presence that drew her attention. Unaware of her own heritage as a descendant of a witch bloodline, Bella regarded the ring as one of those peculiar things that could captivate her.

Suddenly, she began to hallucinate, seeing Eddard standing in front of her, desperately trying to stop her. "Bella, Bella, he is a monster. Don't follow him... Bella," he pleaded. Bella simply walked past the hallucination, gripping her arm tightly against her pants.

As Raizel entered the street, his demeanor suddenly shifted. He took a moment to compose himself before walking in a manner different from before.

Bella looked puzzled by the sudden change in Raizel's demeanor, a familiar nonchalant expression crossing his face. Just then, Jessica called out, "Bella!" This grabbed both Bella's and Raizel's attention. Bella turned first, followed by Raizel. Jessica ran to Bella's side, seemingly ready to complain about Bella's stunt, but she stopped in her tracks halfway, her gaze fixed on Raizel's face. For a moment, she forgot her complaints as she approached Bella, but as soon as she saw Raizel's glowing eyes, she acted as if she didn't know Bella, passing them by without a word.

"Jessica?" Bella called out, confused by Jessica's strange behavior. But Raizel intervened, putting his arm in front of Bella and saying, "No need to worry, she's okay."

Bella started to voice her concerns, but Raizel cut her off, saying, "It's my doing. She'll be fine when you meet her tomorrow."

Bella looked at Raizel, wanting to know what he had done to Jessica.

Seeing Bella growing bolder all of a sudden, Raizel simply walked forward, not keen on explaining too much. Bella tried to catch up with him, her curiosity piqued. Then Raizel said, "Raizel, that's my name," causing Bella to look at him with widened eyes. He continued, "You are not wrong, I could read your thoughts.".

Hearing Raizel's words, Bella began to ask, "But Edwar..."

Before she could finish, Raizel interrupted, "Don't compare me to him, Bella. He's just a fragile living stone." Bella looked horrified by Raizel's words, struggling to control her thoughts. The next thing she wanted to know most was what Raizel really was, something even the Cullens didn't dare to speak of.

However, Raizel spoke before she could ask, "There are things you shouldn't ask, Bella. The more you know, the more danger surrounds you. It's better to live an ignorant life.".

Not understanding what Raizel meant, Bella began to ask, "Can you turn..." But before she could finish, Raizel cut her off, saying, "I can't." His rejection of her request before hearing what she had to say frustrated her, leading her to ask, "Why?".

By then, both Raizel and Bella had reached where Bella's truck was parked. Raizel turned to look at her and said, "Because I'm not one of them." With her limited knowledge about the supernatural world, Bella hesitantly asked Raizel, "Then what are you?"

Raizel smiled at her stubbornness and remarked, "You are really stubborn for a mortal." Just then, a strong wind blew, causing Bella's hair to cover her face. In the next moment, Raizel vanished from his spot, leaving Bella to look around for him in confusion. Unbeknownst to her, Raizel watched her from a few feet above before he flew back in the direction of the mansion he thought of.

The more Raizel flew in the direction he thought was right, the more he felt himself getting lost. He couldn't help but think, "Don't tell me I'm lost." Suddenly finding himself in an unfamiliar location, Raizel looked down and noticed a junkyard with a truck parked nearby. With a resigned sigh, he muttered, "There's no choice then."

The truck driver, who was drunk and on his way home, suddenly saw a shadow and slammed on the brakes. Stepping out of his truck, he looked around in confusion, trying to make sense of what he had seen. After a moment, he shrugged it off and climbed back into the truck, starting the engine. Just then, he heard a voice saying, "Take me home," causing him to jump in fright. He looked around and saw a young man with glowing red eyes staring at him. Startled, he asked, "Who are you?"

Raizel simply replied, still looking ahead, "A stranger." After a few seconds, the truck started moving forward.
