Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Unicorn

"It's me, Hagrid," a voice said, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Don't be afraid, this is Ronan. He's a centaur who has always lived in the Forbidden Forest. Hopefully, he can give us some new clues." Hagrid explained to the group.

Soon enough, the centaur Ronan appeared. This was the first time Arthur had ever seen a centaur and he couldn't help but lock his gaze.

'Wow, he really is a centaur.'

Hagrid stepped forward, greeted Ronan, and then asked him about the unicorn. But the centaur was very mysterious, looking up at the night sky and repeating the same sentence over and over again.

"Tonight's Mars is very bright."

Not long after, another centaur named Bane appeared in front of them, but he was also refusing to reveal any information.

After saying goodbye to the two centaurs, Hagrid angrily said, "They're a bunch of deceivers. They always have to bring up that damn star no matter what they say."

However, Arthur knew what the centaurs meant.

Mars represents war and disaster.

"It looks like we'll have a fight with Professor Quirrell tonight."

Thinking this, Arthur secretly clenched his wand.

Soon, the group arrived at a road separation with blood stains on both sides. Harry spoke up, "Let's split up."

Hagrid hesitated for a moment, then nodded in agreement. He took Neville, Ron, and Malfoy and chose one direction.

Before they left, Hagrid repeatedly reminded Harry to shoot off fireworks with his wand if he discovered anything, and they would come immediately.

Arthur followed Harry on another path. The bloodstains on the way became more and more clear.

"Wait a minute, Harry! I see it."

Arthur stopped Harry from walking and looked to the right at the bushes. Arthur saw it, the shape of a unicorn faintly visible through the gaps.

Arthur waved his wand, summoning a strong gust of wind that cleared away the grass, allowing him to approach the unique unicorn kneeling under a thick tree.

The creature was covered with a faint, magical glow, but its pure white fur was stained with silver blood dripping down its body. Its thin legs struggled to support its elegant body, and its mouth let out weak and painful cries.

The entire scene looked painful.

Arthur noticed that the unicorn had not yet breathed its last breath and rushed over to help. Normally, male wizards would never be allowed to approach a unicorn, as only pure-hearted maidens could come close to and even ride them.

But this unicorn no longer had the strength to stop Arthur.

Aiming his wand at the unicorn, Arthur cast a healing spell repeatedly. The wounds on the unicorn's body visibly began to close and heal at an incredible speed.

But its breath continued to weaken.

Arthur knew that this was the effect of dark magic, which could not be healed simply by a healing spell. After a moment of thought, Arthur reached into his pocket and took out a bottle of deep blue potion.

It was the one he had got in gacha before.

[Murtlap Essence - is known for its healing properties and is commonly used to treat injuries caused by dark magic.]

Arthur thought for a moment and found that dark magic should be considered a form of dark power. In this situation, Arthur had to take a risk.

He gently opened the unicorn's mouth, and the unicorn, realizing that the handsome young human in front of her was trying to save her, cooperated fully.

Arthur poured the entire potion into the unicorn's mouth and kept casting healing spells, hoping to ease her pain.

Luckily, after a short while, the Murtlap Essence began to take effect, and a burst of black smoke was released from the unicorn's body. Arthur was afraid that the smoke might be dangerous, so he stepped back two steps.

As expected, when the black smoke swam up and touched a big tree, the entire tree quickly died and turned into a dead tree.

Meanwhile, the unicorn slowly stood up and walked to Arthur's side, nestling him with her face to express her gratitude.

Harry, who was beside them, was stunned. He couldn't believe that Arthur was able to save a dying unicorn.

'They were both first-year students, but why was there such a big difference between them?'

Arthur gently ran his hand over the unicorn's smooth fur, enjoying the soft surface.

"Okay, okay, you're all right now," he said.

"Moo~"

The unicorn let out a long cry. Although it was in the language of unicorns, Arthur surprisingly understood what she meant.

He asked, "Are you saying that you can find the dark wizard who hurt you just now?"

The unicorn nodded and motioned for him to climb on.

"Can I?" Arthur hesitated, remembering the unicorn's nature.

The unicorn nodded again, firm and determined. Without any hesitation, Arthur climbed on the unicorn's back.

This unicorn was likely not yet fully grown, as its height when standing should be around 1.6 to 1.8 meters. However, the one in front of him was only about 1.2 meters, still a kid.

"Harry, stay here and don't move. Remember to signal Hagrid and the others to join you," Arthur shouted to Harry.

With that, Arthur and the unicorn disappeared into the darkness, leaving Harry standing in place, unable to react for a long time.
