"FELIX! Are you seriously still sleeping? We have to leave in 10 minutes." Felix's Dad shouts.
Felix's father, Lance, is a Theology Professor at the college Felix attends. They usually leave for school together on Thursdays.
"No, I'm awake." Felix says as he rubs his eyes.
-Fuck, I fell asleep. I still had two more chapters I wanted to review.- Felix curses at himself.
"You pulled another all-nighter didn't you? I told you not to push yourself too hard. You need your rest if you want to retain the things you learn." Felix's father scolds.
"I didn't pull an all-nighter." Felix lies.
-I pulled two.-
Felix has been lying to those closest to him since he was 8 years old. He learned quickly that it's better to have everyone like you. He pretends to be someone he's not just to keep those around him happy. He wants nothing more than an easy, drama free life. No one would accept the real him anyway. Why bother?
"What? You didn't know? Harry has been basically stalking this girl for the past week." Finn says to the person he's on a phone call with.
"Finn, tell your brother that I will see him for lunch. See you for Dinner." Felix's father says to his brother before they head out the door.
"Yes sir!" Finn shouts.
Finn sticks up his middle finger at Felix as he father turns his back. Felix returns the favor before heading out the door.
Finn is one of Felix's older twin brothers. The other is Fenn. The Tell residence is a family of 6. Mom, Denise Tell, is a Professor of Mathematics. Dad, Lance Tell, a Professor of Theology. Fenna Tell, older sister, a college drop out, working as a hair stylist for a model agency. Finn Tell, older brother, advertisement sales rep. Fenn Tell, older brother, a second year law student. And Felix Tell, youngest child, fourth year undergrad student studying Mythology.
"Are you still aiming to be a professor?" Felix's dad asks.
"Yup, Watching you and mom teach all these years made me want to follow in your footsteps." Felix says.
This is actually true. Felix enjoys learning. He wants to make it enjoyable for others through teaching.
"I didn't expect you to choose to become a Mythology Professor though. You were always great at math like your mother. I was convinced you were going to follow her lead." Felix's dad gloats.
"Na, I'm good at it but I don't enjoy it. I love mythology and folklore. Plus philosophy is a must to study mythology. It's fun and mind boggling. The discussions we have in class are always enthralling." Felix gushes.
"Haha, well, I'm glad you are enjoying yourself. Keep up the good work and you will get your Doctorate in no time." Felix's dad laughs.
"Thanks dad. I will. Now, focus on the road. You keep going over the yellow line." Felix scolds.
Felix can't always be himself around his father but sometimes, sometimes he lets his true self come ou
