Chapter 16 - Trading The Bone Staff

After clearing the Wind dungeon two more times Zoom went back to the city and logged off the game to go and eat breakfast. The headset had a built in feature where you could play the game while at the same time your body can sleep.

Before Zoom had logged off hee had already received a reply about the offer that Snow was going to give to him. They were suppose to meet up a few hours from now so Zoom could still clear the dungeon once before he would meet up with Snow's representatives.

After eating breakfast and bonding with his family for a while Zoom logged into the game, for the next four days he would do nothing but keep on clearing the Wind dungeon.

After four hours Zoom went back to the city and sold all of the hardened stone and hardened steel that he had accumulated which soared pass the thousands and even his hardened stone passed the ten thousand mark. Zoom sold half of his 12,000 stone where for every 1,000 hardened stone Zoom was given 30,000 UC which totalled to 180,000 UC while he donated the rest of the stone and all his hardened steel to the adventurer's guild, doing so would provide him with a few points of merit.

Zoom had a little more than 200,000 on him right now so he decided to spend all he had on the cheapest cloak that he could buy which at the minimum costed 200,000 UC. The cloak that Zoom bought was a cloak that could deter any tier 1 appraisal skills on appraising his stats and name, unless if a tier 1 being had a decently upgraded appraisal skill and a high enough perception stat then they could bypass the cloak's deterrence. But currently no player was capable of such a feat, for now.

The cloak was black in colour, it and no design whatsoever and looked like a normal black sheet.

Now that Zoom had a cloak on him he went to the designated location which was a private room inside the adventurer's guild, the adventurer's guild had a ton of security so Zoom felt safer making the transaction there. With his intense paranoia Zoom used his other bone staff to summon a skeleton warrior to do the transaction for him incase Snow would try to stalk him if he were the one dealing the transaction personally.

Zoom had also asked for a guard from the adventurer's guild so that Snow couldn't simply kill his skeleton warrior and walk off. And in return for the guard's services though Zoom would give him 200,000 UC.

After waiting for a few minutes, Roneal and a few of his subordinates walked to the private room where Zoom's skeleton and the guard were relaxing on the couches. Roneal's mouth twitches when he saw the skeleton warrior who wore a cloak and a guard inside the tiny room. He had expected that either a group or an individual would be inside, he didn't expect the other party to hide their identity so much as to even letting a summon use a cloak.

'Damn you! I already planned out how we were going to track you down and forcefully take back the money we would give you! Dammit that's why I agreed to such a high offer!' Roneal couldn't back out now since he had already signed the contract that he wouldn't back out of the transaction, the contract was made with the use of the system. There was a contract section in every player's stat screen an upon breaching the contract a severe punishment would be given to the responsible party.

Roneal wanted to curse out loud but he couldn't, he could only bite his tongue on this mistake. He didn't think that the other party could be this cautious.

Through the eyes of his summoned skeleton warrior Zoom could see everything that was happening inside the room. Zoom's skeleton pulled out the bone staff and placed it on the table, seeing the bone staff first hand eased Roneal's mind, he didn't mind spending a large sum to achieve his dream but the amount he offered for the bone staff far outweigh the benefits that it would give him. But in the end he couldn't do anything but proceed with the transaction, the punishment of the contract was too severe to break.

With a bitter expression Roneal pulled out three small pouches that were the size of a jar. Their small size would make you think that nothing valuable was inside but don't be fooled since they could carry enough items to fill the whole room to the brim.

Inside the three pouches were as follows.

[100,000 Hardened Stone]

[100,000 Hardened Steel]

[10 Rock Golem's Heart]

[500 Level 6 Beast Cores]

[200 Level 8 Beast Cores]

[40 Level 10 Beast Cores]

[5 Small Storage Pouches]

[1 Medium Storage Pouch]

[10 Tier 1 Wind Crystals]

[10 Tier 1 Snow Crystals]

[1 Wind Blade Daggers]

[1,000,000 UC]

With these items Roneal could have bought a level 50 weapon that's either basic or enhanced ranked, but instead he traded it for a level 10 rare ranked bone staff. The only reason he chose to trade for a bone staff was because of the bone staff's skill which was over powered but it did have it's limits and flaws.

If you became a tier 2 being your skeletons wouldn't turn into tier 2 beings as well and grow together with you if your bone staff isn't epic ranked or above. A flaw of the bone staff was that it's maximum summon limit was 100 skeletons, and even with this flaw the bone staff is still very powerful. Of course players have yet to discover this flaw which was why Roneal's offer was very big.

After verifying that everything was in the three pouches they proceeded with the exchange of products and in a few seconds the transaction was complete.
