There was an eerie quiet to the house when I woke up and I was only vaguely aware of my phone ringing. I lazily reached for it, already knowing who it was as I answered.
"Hey Luc."
"Lin," his voice sounded relieved and I couldn't help my groan as I sat up on my bed. "I was starting to get worried. I've been calling for a while."
"Just… trying to get some rest," I breathed, finally opening my eyes as I stared out the dark window. The night seemed so peaceful and yet the quiet only made me anxious as I stood. "These memories… are already starting to affect me."
