I frowned as I stepped back out of the car in front of my own home, hesitating on the steps. It was getting closer to sunrise but I didn't want to face Lee or Jinx. My head still pounded from the memory and the only person I really wanted to see was Luc. I hummed quietly to myself as I walked away from the house, starting down the street. Maybe a walk could clear my head.
I retrieved my phone from my pocket as it vibrated, noticing the call was from Luc. I knew he would likely call as soon as he saw my text, but I hadn't expected such a quick response. I took a deep breath to settle myself, carefully answering my phone.
"Hey,"
"I saw your text." He stated matter-of-factly, and I simply sighed as I reached the end of the street. I felt an intense desire to turn toward Luc's home but forced myself to walk the other way as he continued. "Why did you need to see Dracula?"
