I stared at the vampire, shocked by his bold claim, but not doubting the seriousness of his statement. My own surprise seemed to be enough to push away the memory that wanted to overtake my mind and I hummed with thought as I glanced at the floor. I knew the vampire well enough to know that he did not make such a bold statement lightly and I chose my response carefully.
"Adam's goal is something else?" I offered quietly and I heard the vampire shift angrily on his seat.
"You would think Adam's goal would be the same, but his goal is only selfish salvation," Dracula spat, his anger with the deity obvious as he looked at the floor away from me. "He desires an escape and if he succeeds, he will free the Creator regardless and leave everyone else to die."
