As I closed the door to the house, I went straight up the stairs, not bothering to check for the pixie in his study. I knew Lee would want an update, but my heart was pounding as I considered the vampire coming to get me. We had already decided we would simply go back to his house, and see what we could find out about our cult. It wasn't the most romantic first date we could have as a couple, but it made me grin all the same. The simple fact that was a statement I could make made my heart pound and I quickly disappeared into my room, unable to help the chuckle that escaped me.
"Date," I whispered quietly, pushing myself off the door as I walked toward my closet. There was a piece of jewelry I wanted to find and I was so lost in my searching I barely heard Lee knocking on my door.
"I guess you found something?" I didn't even turn around as the pixie entered my room, still set on finding my prize. "Uh, Lin?"
"Hm?"
