Chapter 137 - Savior

"I thought that that would be the end of me ... but then he appeared," Kaia's mother, Kyla, said as she continued her story.

As soon as she felt the last bits of her magical power fading away, the gargantuan doors behind her suddenly started to open. 

As soon as the door was about half a meter wide, an object came flying through it. The object darted straight towards the beast's forehead, causing it to stumble for a few moments. 

But a few moments were all that was needed before a pair of translucent arms yanked Kyla away from the beast's range and into the other side of the door. 

The beast, seeing that its prey was getting snatched away right in front of it, immediately regained its footing and darted off towards the mage. 

However, the door was almost closed, and right before her eyes, she saw the vestiges of the beast, the last of it that she saw for as far as she could recall.
