Chapter 67 - The Triangular Territory

Early morning of 27th August,

On the streets of Valdan, A long motorcade consisting of more than twenty cars were speeding towards the Triangular territory of Archman Group. The motorcade today had armored military vehicles leading it with soldiers mounted on the machine guns above the armoured cars.

The roads were silent and mostly clear of any other vehicles because it was still 4 am in the morning.

The motorcade was carrying Luke and his family, in Luke's car Beatrice could not help but grab on tightly to Luke resting hand, her eyes were full of worry. She could already guess what was going on.

Luke woke her up a few hours ago, apparently there was an emergency and he and his entire family needed to evacuate for the Citadel.

"Don't worry, everything is going to be fine!'' Luke comforted her with a smile.

Beatrice couldn't help but nod her head but deep down, she knew things weren't going to be as fine as her husband claimed!

After they entered the Triangular territory, the motorcade broke formation and reverted back to the usual seven cars, the other armored cars with soldiers took an opposite turn.

They were now within the Triangular territory which was more like a fortress in an actual sense.

The Triangular territory was a city of large land mass which was specifically built to be a fortress and last line of defense of Archman Group and in some situations, humanity.

It was called the Triangular territory because the city was shaped in a form of triangle with three huge skyscrapers 2,000 feet tall strategically placed at each angle, and then the Crystal Citadel stood at the very middle of the city over 2,500 feet tall.

One peculiar aspect of this four skyscrapers were the unusual long silver poles stretching to the heavens with blue lights shimmering across their surfaces.

The motorcade made a stop at the Rearview Estate to drop Beatrice off at their old home.

Why don't you go in and rest, I have something to take care of, I'll be back in a few days as soon as I'm done" Luke said to Beatrice.

Beatrice couldn't help but reluctantly agree, she knew he would be very busy and this wasn't the time to act like a spoilt wife.

"Victoria, Steve I'll leave her in your care!'' Luke turned to his trusted companions.

"You don't have to worry about anything, even without your request I would have made sure that no harm comes to her in anyway!" Victoria said confidently, she was the whisperer of death after all.

"Sir don't worry, do what you must! She and your family will be safe, I'll put my life on it! Steve said with a straight face.

Luke nodded before signaling the motorcade to continue to the Crystal Citadel.

In the car, Luke couldn't help but close his eyes and enter his subconscious space.

At this point it was completely pitch black, "Lucy! Lucy! Lucy!" Luke called, but as he expected there was no response.

Luke opened his eyes to his driver telling him, they'd arrived at the Crystal Citadel.

Luke was greeted by admiral Phil Hines, the third commander behind John and Luke.

"Admiral what's the situation!" Luke asked as they headed to mission control HQ, At 0300 this morning our submarine the A.M Himes which detached from the main fleet three days ago as per your order reported 4 submarines entering our seas" the admiral phill reported.

"Where we able to make contact with them?' Luke asked as they entered the elevator.

"No sir, they didn't respond to our signals!"

Luke at this time seemed to remember about the whole submarine of the dead issue a few months ago.

"We haven't been able to make contact but we're still trying!" Phil reported.

"Tell them to stop trying to establish contact with them and pull as far away from them as possible!" Luke gave the command.

"Yes sir!" Phil acknowledged the command without questions anything.

The moment they entered the mission control HQ, all the officers there got up and saluted Luke.

Mission control HQ was large enough to fit in a thousand people at once, currently there were 600 officers on duty all working on their monitors and stations.

"At ease soldiers! from now onwards we are switching to code Red, I want everyone to be vigilant and report any tiny movements you observe.

The lives of your comrades and brother are now in your hands, so let's do our outmost best to save as many as we can!"

The aura in the mission control HQ became tense, they could all feel their breaths become heavy, they knew that from now on it wasn't a drill or practice test anymore.

They were no longer facing petty criminals and terrorists that their power and advanced weapons completely overpowered, they were now about to face the Seven Super Countries,

Mentioning even one was enough to sent awe and shivers through them, but now they were facing all seven together.

The weight of the responsibility on their shoulders suddenly increased several times over.

"Alright, get back to your position and order the A.M Himes to pull as far away as they can right now!'' Phil ordered.

"Roger that!" The officer in charge of communication between the A.M Himes and mission control HQ responded before relaying the order.

"Pull up the position of the enemy forces and our forces within the country" Luke ordered.

A heat map of Gold Country appeared on a humongous screen at the Mission control HQ, The heat map represented only red and green dots.

The red dots representing the enemy forces, were currently circling around the Triangular territory and on the other hand the green dots representing Archman Group forces were scattered around the country with some even within the red circles unaware of the danger.

We currently have around ten thousand active personnel within the country spread all over the regions to maintain peace and order.

Our main army consisting of 55 thousand soldiers are currently not within range" As Phil was explaining, the position of their main force was also brought up on the large screen.

The main forces were too far from the capital to be of any help.

Admiral Phil couldn't help but sigh, " Sir, I think we should pull back the main forces, it may take some time but I believe we can hang on until they arrive to back us up.

With the main force on our side, we'll be able to turn the tide of this battle around, this will help us transition from defense to attack catching the enemy forces completely off guard!"

Phill shared a solution to escape from their current dilemma, and to be honest majority of the officer thought it was a pretty feasible plan.

Luke shook his head and dismissed that plan, if it was any other day, that plan would have been superb, but unfortunately for them today wasn't any other day.

"It's a good plan, but unfortunately for us executing it would be sending the main force to their death!"

"The 50,000 invaders right now are just the enemy advance force, the main army of the seven Super Countries are yet to arrive" Luke explained.

"The Super Countries have been preparing for this attack for quite a while, they've been sending troops and weapons to their bases in Eldrador, Alderon and Xylonia over the past three months.

That's why I deployed the main army to the Northern border.

My Intel from the A.I.A tells me those troops number up to 70,000, am guessing that's their main army.

If we withdraw our troops on the Northern boarder now, our back will be completely vulnerable and with the 50,000 soldiers already within our borders, our forces will be completely sandwiched between the two enemy forces" Luke explained the cons of Phil plan.

"Tell the main forces to proceed with their initial orders, they are to focus solely on stopping the enemy main army advancement into our territory, we'll handle the rest!" Luke ordered.

Yes General!

Also order all our small bases outside Gold country and around the world to move to the nearest alpha base nearest to them, those that are too far from alpha bases should abandon their post and disperse and blend in with the natives!

After giving those orders, Luke and a few of the high ranking Generals held several meetings on how best to defend against the enemy.

At 8 am, an officer barged into the meeting room of the generals with a flustered face, "General, there's been a large explosion at the coast, the explosion came from the position the four super nations submarines were last reported.

"Was the A.M Himes safe from impact?" Luke asked.

"Yes sir, the A.M Himes was at a safe range when the explosion happened!"

"Good, thank you for your report! You are dismissed!" Phill dismissed the officer.

"Gentlemen, hell is already upon us! We've been caught completely off guard, I didn't expect them to attack this soon.

Now there's been a change of plans!
