Chapter 106 - Schemes

There was nothing but pure delight in her eyes after seeing Madeline settle before her in the inn. Adele ignored the scornful looks sent in their directions by the people who occupied the inn's tavern. She was only interested in welcoming her cousin back to the Capital.

"You look more beautiful than the last time I saw you. What's your secret?" She cooed, palming her hand on her lips. Adele giggled sheepishly while her brown eyes curved into a crescent.

"Oh, thank you Eldest Cousin. I guess it's the peace of mind I got two days before returning here." Her forest-green eyes settled on the wooden mug before her.

Madeline's throat itched for a burning rice liquor. She didn't know why started craving it, but she wanted to sate her hunger.
