Reginald was welcomed with the grave silence that ensued in his Father's study. His eyes fell on Sylvester's silver ones. They looked so serious one could feel the gravity of the conversation they were about to have.
"You don't have to deny it, Reginald." General Hayes's deep voice reached his ears. He was not looking at him, he had his eagle eyes focused on the huge map laid on the table instead.
Reginald felt the anger he tried his best to control over the past years, trying to surface at the mention of this same topic again. His dark eyes narrowed on the General dangerously while he clenched his teeth.
"I thought we were already over this." Reginald tried his best to keep his emotion in check. This wasn't what he expected as an opening conversation. He knew the great responsibility that came with taking over.
