"As expected of the Suzuki family son-in-law. Borrowing such a valuable item so easily."
Kogoro Mouri looked at Senichi taking out the Memories Egg from his bag, patted Senichi's shoulder, and laughed, "You, my boy, really have good luck! You managed to marry such a great wife like Ayako."
Upon hearing Kogoro Mouri's words, Senichi couldn't help but roll his eyes and retorted with a touch of annoyance, "If Detective Mouri went to borrow this egg, you would've gotten it just the same. My identity has nothing to do with it."
It's like I'm being treated like a pretty boy who lives off others, but I work hard to make my own living!
"Enough about that, let's try it out quickly!"
Sergei Ovchinnikov interrupted their banter, reached out, and took the green egg from Senichi's hand.
Amidst the anticipating gazes of everyone, Sergei Ovchinnikov slowly placed the green egg inside the red one.
"It fits perfectly!" Sergei Ovchinnikov exclaimed, "In other words, Mr. Kiichi Kousaka didn't make two separate eggs. He split one egg into two and created them as a combination."
"And that's not all."
Senichi looked at Conan, who was rubbing his chin in contemplation, and ruffled his hair. He then glanced at Conan, who had a slightly annoyed expression as if saying, "You're interrupting my thoughts," and smiled proudly. "There's still a gift left by Mr. Kiichi Kousaka."
"A gift?"
Senichi's words caught everyone's attention.
Taking the combined "Memories Egg" from Sergei Ovchinnikov's hands, Senichi continued, "Think about it, throughout this journey, the part closely related to the egg is the mirror, right?
Whether it's the secret mirror revealed on the green egg or the crown when opening the underground chamber here, both require light to be shone upon them."
"You mean..."
"Yes!"
Facing everyone's guesses, Senichi pointed to a cylindrical pillar beneath the platform, "Now, let's witness the 'magic' that The Last Wizard of the Century left behind!"
Before they had come, everyone had noticed this pillar, but there was only a circular hole in the middle, and the other parts were solid. They had assumed it was just a decorative element, but now it was unexpectedly useful.
"Officer Shiratori, please put the flashlight in there," Senichi commanded, "Uncle Mouri and Ran, please blow out the candles."
Upon hearing these words, everyone started to act. As the candles gradually went out, the entire space became dim, with only the flashlight placed upright in the pillar.
The intensely focused light formed a visible column of light that shot up to the ceiling, becoming the only source of light in the room.
Amidst everyone's gaze, Senichi placed the two merged eggs on top of the light column.
A miraculous scene unfolded: the exteriors of both the red and green eggs turned transparent, revealing intricate golden-carved figures inside, slowly ascending.
Beside them, Sergei Ovchinnikov was even more astonished, unable to find words to describe his sense of awe.
"The internal design of this egg is quite unique; it utilizes a brightness gauge design," Officer Shiratori explained as he looked at the "Memories Egg" before them.
Within the translucent shell of the egg, a golden emperor held a book, surrounded by his family. After reaching a certain height, the pages of the book in the emperor's hand automatically turned.
Then, the flashlight's beam began to refract through numerous facets and folding mirrors inside the egg, ultimately shining onto the topmost part of the egg, a glass decoration resembling a diamond.
In the next moment, countless projected images of people appeared on the ceiling of this egg-shaped building.
"This... this is a portrait of Emperor Nikolai and his family!" Sergei Ovchinnikov looked up at the pictures on the ceiling in astonishment.
"So, the emperor doll isn't holding a book after all," Kogoro Mouri observed the images reflected around the circular ceiling and couldn't help but exclaim, "It's a photo album."
"That's why it's named the 'Memories Egg'," Conan said while gazing at the scene above him with his head lifted.
"If the emperor's family hadn't been tragically murdered back then, then it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call this the most precious gift," Sergei Ovchinnikov couldn't help but sigh.
"Your great-grandfather truly lives up to being called 'The Last Wizard of the Century'!" Kogoro Mouri turned his head to Natsumi Kousaka and praised, "This imaginative design, much like magic, is truly astounding."
"Thank you. If my great-grandfather could hear this, he would definitely be very happy," Natsumi Kousaka smiled.
And within the photos, there was also a picture of Natsumi Kousaka's great-grandfather and great-grandmother together, bearing a striking resemblance to Natsumi Kousaka's current appearance.
"This egg named 'Memory' is the greatest legacy left behind by Mr. Kiichi. Our Russia's government has decided to relinquish all claims to it."
Sergei Ovchinnikov held the egg solemnly and handed it to Natsumi Kousaka, saying, "It will be more valuable in your possession."
"I'm truly grateful," Natsumi Kousaka thanked him and then exclaimed, "But the egg inside it belongs to Chairman Suzuki."
"No worries. I believe having you safeguard this egg makes it even more meaningful." Ayako, who had been observing from the sidelines, suddenly stepped forward and said, "On behalf of the Suzuki family, I return this egg to you."
"But... this is such a valuable item..." Natsumi Kousaka hastily shook her head at this kind gesture.
"It's okay, really. Besides, this egg was originally created by your great-grandfather for his family. It's more valuable in your hands."
Sonoko waved her hand casually, seemingly unconcerned, as if she had just given away a small toy worth a few bucks. "As for my Dad, we'll handle it."
"Thank you so much!" Natsumi Kousaka bowed deeply to the Suzuki sisters, expressing her gratitude, "Honestly, I don't know how to properly thank both of you..."
"I heard you're a pastry chef?" Sonoko's eyes lit up, "How about making us some pastries? I'd love to have a strawberry cake."
"No problem!" Natsumi Kousaka immediately nodded and smiled, "Please allow me to treat you all well!"
"Then I'll eagerly await that!" Kogoro Mouri chimed in, and then seemed to remember something as he turned to Senichi, "Hey, about the password for the sealed room's door earlier, didn't you say you'd explain it later when we find the other egg?
Now you can tell us why you knew the password was 'The Last Wizard of the Century,' right?"
Upon hearing this, everyone turned their curious gazes to Senichi.
"Because of Kid, you see."
Senichi answered, "Because among the Phantom Thieves, the person who made that egg, Mr. Kiichi, is known as 'The Last Wizard of the Century'.
That's why it was written that way on the teaser letter, right, Mr. Kaido Kid?"
As he spoke, Senichi turned his gaze towards someone with a half-smile, seemingly playful, "I wonder if what I said is correct?"
