Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: Tragedy

I was at Bryce's funeral with Fred. It was a somber occasion and I was trying to hold back my tears, but the sadness was too much for me. Everyone was sharing their memories of Bryce and it was too much for me to bear; I started to cry.

Fred was there to comfort me, but I couldn't be consoled. Then Bryce's mother got up to talk about how much of a great son he was, but before she could finish her speech, there was a loud bang. It sounded like a gun shot. Everyone was confused and scared. I had a feeling of dread wash over me and when I looked up, I saw that Bryce's mother had fallen to the ground. She had been shot in the head with a gun.

Everyone was screaming and panicking. I felt like I was going to faint. I wanted to run away and forget what had just happened, but something kept me rooted to the spot. I looked around and saw a hooded figure holding a gun. I knew that this was the killer.

Fred grabbed me and tried to lead me away, but I couldn't move. I was scared and confused. I wanted to do something, but I didn't know what. I felt helpless and lost.

The police came and arrested the hooded figure. It turned out to be Bryce's cousin who had been holding a grudge against Bryce's mother. The police soon found out that Bryce's mother had been the real target and that the killer had intended to shoot her all along.

I was still in shock after the whole incident. Fred and I stayed until the end of the funeral, but I have to admit that it was one of the most difficult days of my life. I could never forget the sight of Bryce's mother lying on the ground, shot by a gun. It was a tragedy that could have been avoided. Why is this happening?
