Chereads / My System Is The Strongest Summon / Chapter 15 - Diagnosed

Chapter 15 - Diagnosed

Jordan followed Chief Inspector Burgeon and the other officers back onboard the metal vehicle. He found that the inside was quite comfortable having three rows of seats. All of the seats were made from a soft cushion wrapped tightly in leather.

Sargent Feratot took the opportunity to explain to Jordan "This vehicle is called a mini Van. We usually only use this for our transportation. For criminals, we usually use a faster vehicle called a car and there's normally a cage in the back seats.

It's tight and uncomfortable for whoever is seated at the back, but it's a layer of protection for the driving officer who has to focus on the road. After all, they can't watch the criminal and drive at the same time."

Corporal Stubbs also said, "We as police officers also never travel alone. Our code is 'two is one and one is none'". Jordan nodded his head as he seemed to understand. Corporal Sentwan didn't say anything the entire journey.

It only took about 5 minutes for the vehicle to arrive at the police station. Jordan was marveled by its speed and its efficiency in transporting groups. He had never seen anything like it.

Sure magical teleportation was used in his world was faster but this method didn't require any magical power to be used and everyone could rest comfortably.

Jordan also took note that since he arrived in town he didn't sense any spirits. Everyone here was well over the age of 18 but no one had a spirit summon of their own and he didn't see any forms of power being used.

[I don't think you should mention, spirits or summons for the time being. Every universe I know of calls upon us spirits for power, even if it is a relatively weak universe as a superior spirit, I should have been able to sense the presence of at least a few spirits by now]

[I also don't recognize any of these structures or devices that we have seen so far. Proceed with caution as you go.] the system warned Jordan in a stern voice.

As Jordan left the vehicle and entered the police station he heard the familiar ding of the system in his mind. He briefly looked at the notification and acknowledged that he had completed the quest.

'System could you assign 20 points to charm, 10 to strength, and 10 to dexterity, please? I may need the charm stats to get out of any situations.' Jordan inwardly assigned his points with the help of the system.

'I should probably save some attribute points for cases of emergency so that I can apply them as the situation calls for but as it stands I'm very weak. I'll wait until I'm stronger to save up on points.' Jordan inwardly spoke to himself.

[From what I gather these humans surrounding you are all quite weak with normal physiques. But there should be some method of obtaining power here in this universe, otherwise, it would have been impossible for humans to survive with monsters roaming the planet and you did find a legendary artifact after all. This implies that there are powerful humans here on this planet.] the system told him.

Jordan secretly nodded his head in agreement. Chief Inspector Burgeon led Jordan to a room with a large glass window on the outside. Inside the room, he could see a single steel table bolted to the floor with one chair on each side.

Chief Inspector Burgeon gestured for Jordan to enter the room, after which he entered and locked the door. Jordan looked around and noticed that he could not see outside the room, unlike the impression he received looking inside from the outside.

"Umm sir, why aren't the other officers here?" Jordan asked.

"Just take a seat, they had other duties to attend to. I would like to ask you a few questions." Chief Inspector Burgeon said as he took a seat on one side of the table and gestured for Jordan to do the same on the opposite end.

Jordan took a seat and took a deep breath to compose himself.

"I'll ask you a series of questions and I only need you to answer them honestly. Let's start with What is your name?" Inspector Burgeon asked.

"My name is Jordan Damaleus" Jordan answered.

"Where were you born?"

"I don't remember."

"How did you get here?"

"I was running from a pack of wolves when I jumped into a river. I was tossed along until I eventually washed up on shore on the other side of the river. I traveled in a straight line from the river for 3 days when I eventually ended up here. That's really all I know."

Chief Inspector Burgeon nodded slightly and told Jordan to wait a few moments as he left the room. He went outside the room where he found his superior a man in khaki with thick bulging muscles attentively staring at Jordan. He asked his superior what he thought and he stated that the lie detector showed all of Jordan's answers to be the truth.

Meanwhile, inside the room, Jordan was secretly sweating and thanking his lucky stars after checking his most recent system notification.

[New Ability Acquired]

[Steady Pulse (Passive)- Host's pulse rate remains steady, Immune to all forms of scanners including polygraph tests.]

'They were seriously scanning me for lies? Thank goodness for the system's weird habit of handing out passive skills like candy' Jordan thought and praised the system as a trickle of cold sweat ran down his back.

"I would like for you to ask him a few more questions but it seems as though it may be pointless. Have one of the constables go to the medic bay area and bring the force doctor over to the interrogation room." the superior stated as he kept his eyes trained on Jordan in the room.

"YES SIR!" Chief Inspector Burgeon shouted and saluted as he left to delegate the assignment to one of the available officers.

About ten minutes later a constable arrived in the area of the interrogation room with the force doctor. He saluted and took his leave as the superior instructed the force doctor to head into the interrogation room and perform a check of Jordan.

Jordan who had been nervously sitting in the room the entire time suddenly heard the door open once again. He turned around and was greeted by the sight of Chief Inspector Burgeon re-entering along with a male with thick scruffy black locs of dark complexion who was dressed in a long white lab coat and blue scrubs.

He came over to Jordan and asked him a series of questions about his origins while checking his pulse and other various checks. After about an hour he left the room and declared that he had diagnosed Jordan to be suffering from Amnesia.

Jordan was taken out of the room and brought to a waiting area where he was offered a variety of foods and drinks that he had never seen before. He was informed of the doctor's diagnosis and told to wait for further inquiries to be completed.
