Jordan took off running. He ran like hell as he headed back to his secret hole. He didn't know what would happen but, he would rather be safe than sorry. If he was truly hallucinating then in an hour nothing would happen. If he wasn't then he would fall asleep and he would know the truth.
When he woke up then he could try and figure out whatever this system thing was and what it did. He did not have time to truly check what was being displayed earlier as he was simply too dazed by the system's sudden appearance.
Jordan continued running although he was not nearly as fast as he was earlier when he was heading home.
He was already exhausted from all the running and emotional trauma from the roller-coaster of a ride he had today called life.
His body felt numb and the only thing pushing him forward was pure determination and his desire to see the Triconia village burn to the ground one day. He could not afford to risk falling asleep here and dying today.
2:13
Just before the time reached two minutes Jordan arrived at his hole. He looked at the timer in front of him which continued to count down.
He hurriedly moved away his covering and entered the hole before making sure he properly hid the entrance as best and quickly as he could. Just as he was done and turned to take in a deep breath, the system sounded off in his head again.
[TIMER STOPPED. SYSTEM SYNCHRONIZATION WILL NOW TAKE PLACE. HOST WILL NOW ENTER HIBERNATION UNTIL COMPLETION. ESTIMATED TIME UNTIL COMPLETION APPROX. 48 HOURS]
Jordan wanted to scream when he saw the message and the 48 hours but unfortunately for him, his already exhausted body and tensed muscles began to relax on their own.
He suddenly felt very sleepy and could not fight the feeling. 'I guess this is real' was the last thought he had before his mind faded to darkness.
8 hours later at Jordan's residence
A group of people surrounded the house all clad in heavy chain-mail armor equipped with swords and shields, with a select few who were classified as elites wearing enchanted clothing which seem to be made from the finest silk but sturdier than the strongest steel.
They all had a crest depicting a lion with its mouth open to the sky as a silver phoenix descended from the heavens attached to their left breastplate/pocket.
These persons were currently digging through the ruins of the house. They had already removed the corpses of Jordan's family from the residence and had placed them onto a wagon constructed of aged lumber.
A luminous blue orb enveloped the three corpses placing them in a time stasis and stagnating any further deterioration.
A tall dark man who was exceedingly buff and had a wild beard wearing enchanted clothing with golden stripes on his shoulder sat at a table that was put together on the scene upon their arrival.
Even from his seated position, his shadow loomed over those in his vicinity. His muscles were so huge and bulged so much, it appeared as though the slightest flex of his muscle would be all that it took to destroy the piece of enchanted equipment.
Of course, the clothing couldn't be destroyed that easily but it went to show how huge he really was. He held an aloof expression on his face as opposite him was the Triconia village chief who was giving him a report of the incident that ended the lives of a mother and two children.
These men presently searching the house were all a part of the Griffin Kingdom Research and Corruption task force. They were all under Captain Jack's remit who was seated opposite the village chief.
"So tell me again how a fire that ended the lives of two underage children and one adult woman started with these same victims shackled and bound in a room with no chance of escape in the village under your remit," Jack said as he looked directly into the village chief's eyes, radiating a dangerous pressure.
The village chief stuttered as he spoke "W-well the-they are not really in the Triconia Village. They relinquished its protection when they left to reside in the forest. I can not be held responsible for what goes on outside of the village's walls." the village chief said as he tried to remain calm and confident.
"Besides that woman is nothing but foreign trash, a mere slave who gained status from a pitiful man who lost his way. Her oldest son took part in the Summoning Ceremony yesterday and failed to summon a spirit companion. I mean can you believe it." the village chief just continued blabbering until Jack cut him short.
" You said she had an older son, where is he now?" Jack asked. "Well, you see no one knows really. After he failed to summon a spirit companion yesterday, he bolted into the forest and has yet to return." The village chief replied.
'Hmm,' Jack thought to himself. "Units 1 and 3, scour the forest and try to locate an 18yr old male, believed to be a member of this family.
Speak with the village chief for a description of his appearance and leave now" Jack voiced out to his officers.
He then looked at the village chief and said, "You can take your leave, get lost." The village Chief turned around and quickly left, what thoughts were on his mind, only he would know.
Meanwhile, all this was occurring Jordan was held up in the safety of his hallow tree, none the wiser.
