Chapter 47 - One last struggle (2)

Enzo looked up at the enormous lizard, its scales shimmering in the sunlight filtering through the trees. He had encountered numerous challenges and adversaries during his time on the campus, but this creature was unlike anything he had faced before. Its sheer size and the air of power it exuded made his heart race. Exactly like the boss monster he had faced in the Dungeon of Fury.

Seraphina stepped up beside him, her eyes fixed on the lizard. "You have found the perfect training partner, Enzo," She smiled, her red hair fluttering in the wind. "Although it is intimidating, all giant creatures share one big flaw."

Enzo waited for a moment so that Seraphina could continue, but she didn't speak again. "And what is this flaw you're talking about?" He raised an eyebrow.

"You're smart enough to know about it. It's just that you're not focused on the task yet."

"Sigh..." Even though Enzo appreciate his teacher's prescence, he couldn't deny the fact that her cryptic advice annoyed him a great deal. "Well, I guess it's just another way for me to train, right?"

"See? I knew that ma disciple was smart." She chuckled lightly.

In the end, Enzo could only take a deep breath. His fingers instinctively gripping the hilt of his sword. He could feel the weight of all his training, all his struggles, and all his growth pressing upon him. This was the culmination of his journey within the campus. He was no longer the weak young man who struggled to survive; he was a warrior ready to face whatever challenge came his way.

Well... he was still struggling, but you got the gist of it.

As Enzo approached the giant lizard, he could feel its giant body slowly moving, indicating that it was waking up. As its gaze landed on him, Enzo felt a chill run down his spine. He stopped a great distance away and called forth all of his butterflies.

The lizard looked at Enzo, its eyes narrowing as if assessing him. The air seemed to grow tense, and Enzo could sense the impending challenge. His instincts told him that this was more than just a test of physical strength; it was a battle of wills.

He remembered Seraphina's words about giant creatures having a flaw. He knew he needed to find that flaw and exploit it. But to do that, he had to understand the creature, to anticipate its movements and intentions.

Or so he thought.

'Wait, with such a giant body, isn't it easy to attack it? After all, it won't be able to protect its rear while defending against the one on the front, right? Yeah, that must be the flaw she was talking about.'

Enzo's mind raced as he formulated a plan. He knew that exploiting the giant lizard's size and mobility, or lack thereof, would be crucial in this battle. Seraphina's cryptic words echoed in his mind, urging him to stay focused on the task at hand.

With the butterflies swirling around him, Enzo carefully circled the massive creature. His eyes never left the lizard's enormous form as he assessed the situation. He noticed that its scales were thickest on its front side, likely its natural defense against frontal attacks.

Taking a deep breath, Enzo tightened his grip on his sword and prepared to strike. He chose his moment carefully, waiting for the lizard to make a move. As the creature lunged forward, attempting to snap at him with its massive jaws, Enzo darted to the side with incredible speed, narrowly avoiding the attack.

As he was about to run forward to go past the monster and attack its rear, a giant tail came swiping at him, completely stopping him and his track.

His protective butterflies made multiple shields to protect their master, but even then the strength behind the tail was too enormous for the shield to stop it.

Nonetheless, the few seconds it had bought him were largely enough for Enzo to get out of the way.

The tail still came, but only hit the ground, creating a giant crater at the center of the impact.

'Phew, it was close.'

Enzo's heart raced as he narrowly avoided the crushing blow of the lizard's tail. He knew that one wrong move could spell disaster, and the creature's immense strength was not to be underestimated.

Sure its body gave it a massive flaw, but the strength it carried almost compensated for it.

Almost.

With his instincts on high alert, Enzo continued to circle the lizard, searching for another opportunity to strike. He couldn't afford to make any mistakes, and he needed to stay focused on his goal: finding the creature's flaw.

However, it was proving to be difficult as the red lizard was proving to be a daunting foe.

Despite its regular strength, it was still a great enemy as Enzo couldn't allow himself to get hit even once by the lizard.

And just the thought of being crushed under its massive body made Enzo's body shiver.

'Focus man focus!'

As the lizard's gaze locked onto him, Enzo's determination burned brighter. He couldn't rely solely on his instincts; he needed a strategy, a plan that would allow him to exploit the creature's flaw without falling victim to its incredible strength.

He continued to circle the lizard, his eyes scanning its movements for any signs of an opening. The massive scales on its front side were formidable, but they also meant that its agility was limited. Enzo knew that he needed to capitalize on this limitation if he was to succeed.

The butterflies around him fluttered in a dance of anticipation, their wings creating a protective shield. Enzo's connection with them was stronger than ever, a testament to his growth during his time on the campus.

The lizard let out a thunderous roar, the ground beneath Enzo trembling in response. It was a clear challenge, a warning that the battle was about to escalate. Enzo felt a surge of adrenaline, his senses sharpening as he focused on the creature before him.
