She pursed her lips and steered her head in the other direction, looking anywhere but him.
"No. Not at all." She exhaled softly. "Does my aunt already know I fell sick?"
"Why? Were you expecting that I would inform her?" Came his indifferent response.
With a shocked expression, she snapped her gaze to the vampire only to almost bang her head against his face, and she quickly leaned her face away.
Silence.
She shifted her eyes away, too stunned to answer. Belle wondered how hard it would have been for Kione to send her aunt a message that she was not well; after all, he had servants for that purpose.
Kione brought the back of his hand to touch her forehead again to feel her temperature, which had lowered dramatically. But it could not be said if it was the work of the water or something else.
The confusion that was written on Belle's face did not last for long.
