"What?" John asked, completely confused by Luca's statement.
"What if it was a surprise party?" Luca repeated the question. Thinking he'd probably heard the wrong thing, John didn't resist anymore in facepalming himself.
"We need to leave now," said John.
"But what if that's mom?" Luca asked, intending to go back to the room but John pulled him back by the hand.
John parted his lips to say something but Felicia interrupted him by asking,
"What are the two of you doing here? Shouldn't you be in that room, tied up?"
Seeing her up close, Luca shook his head.
"There's no way she's our mother!" He screamed and ran to the nearest door and pulled it open. John didn't waste any time and followed his brother.
Fortunately, that door was the exit door. They were completely outside and the key was still left in the lock. Without wasting a second, John locked the door with the key and took it.
