"Mam, are you in there?" Erika heard the voice of the maid.
Erika released a sigh of relief when she heard the voice of the maid. "What is it?!" she yelled out of frustration. Earlier when she heard the footsteps, she thought it had been Adrian, looking for his phone.
The maid nearly jumped when she heard the woman scream. With her hand on her chest, she calmed her heart before answering,
"Mam, the boss told me that your belly hurts so he asked me to bring some bananas for you."
Bananas? Erika thought to herself with furrowed eyebrows before she realized. Adrian must have probably thought she was in that time of the month which was why he'd asked the maid to bring her some bananas.
His actions may be sweet but they disgusted her. "Take it away," Erika ordered. Her voice wasn't sounding weak or soft as it had been earlier when she was talking to the officer on the phone. "I don't need it," she added.
