Chapter 21 - CHAPTER 21: PITY

Feilan glanced his way and couldn't take her eyes off him 'This man..'. She unintentionally forgot Yukitsa.

"Shao Feilan" he called her name out softly and curiously with a playful smile on his face as if her name was the most interesting thing in the world and damn Feilan was captivated by it.

This was the first time he had called her her name after she had practically pleaded with him to do so the day before.

But now that she heard him call her by name, Feilan felt that she liked it a little bit more than she should.

Yukitsa acted oblivious and said calmly with a hint of reverence for Lushan "Miss Shao....I'd like you to meet your benefactor and my boss whom I'm sure you've meet...Mr Lushan"

Feilan's eyes widened in surprise. Firstly because this guy Lushan was her 'benefactor' and secondly how Yukitsa had addressed Lushan as boss.

This strange man she couldn't recognise from anywhere was actually referred to as boss by the wealthy and prestigious young master of the Feng family.

Who in the world was this Lushan that even wealthy Yukitsa Feng called him boss with much reverence and respect.

Feilan tilted her head and just had to ask Yukitsa in bewilderment "He's your boss"

Yukitsa chuckled and nodded "Yeah...I wouldn't dare act high before the young master of the Ya—"

**cough cough**

Lushan coughed lightly to draw their attention but also cut Yukitsa's statement short.

Yukitsa quickly realised that he almost blundered up by revealing Lushan's family name. He also coughed slightly to change the topic.

"Anyway I'll leave everything else to my boss" Yukitsa said and he elegantly left the exclusive VIP room....leaving only Lushan and Feilan.

Feilan had noticed how both the men had avoided the topic of Lushan's identity and that left Feilan wondering who this guy truly was.

She gazed at him trying to recall if she knew this guy from anywhere but atleast she knew that he had to have some kind of influence if he could be the boss of Yukitsa Feng.

"Shao Feilan.." He called her name but with a bit of seriousness this time and Feilan didn't know why but her muscles tensed up.

Lushan who looked even more enchanting now that she wasn't drunk remained calm and said "Please take a seat"

He indicated to the seat opposite him with only a glass coffee table between.

Feilan looked at the seat and then at him. He seemed more aloof...more indifferent and unbothered.

His aura was colder and more unsettling.

But then one recollection of the guy's absurd requests and Feilan shook her head.

The guy had already left his first impression on her alright and it would take something big to change it.

To her..the guy was one of those weirdos who said everything on their mind.

Feilan remained calm and walked to the seat opposite Lushan. She sat up straight with a strange confidence and elegance 'Alright...I can't forget that my main reason for being here is to save Feilan Fashion'

Feilan calmed down and focused her gaze on Lushan...ready to hear what he had to say but her eyes were met with a light smirk of mockery at the corner of his lips.

"Is this how you look everytime you have a meeting with someone...all tense like a cat that's ready to scratch at any moment"

Feilan's seriousness was utterly crushed and she pouted in dejection.

Lushan gazed at her and became serious once again.

"Now Miss Shao.....you owe me and I'm sure you remember our conversation last night...you have to repay me accordingly"

Feilan stiffened as she remembered the request. One month of her time and she had to become this man's pretend girlfriend.

Feilan wasn't even harbouring the idea of seeing a man for the rest of her life because of that bastard Suzen whom she had poured her heart out for and he still betrayed her trust and love.

She loathed men but now this man wanted her to be his girlfriend for a whole month.

Feilan bit down on her lip trying to think.

"I'm sure we don't have to go through yesterday's process again....like I said....it will be to your disadvantage if you are in debt to me"

Lushan said as he picked up a blue file and slid it across the coffee table towards Feilan.

"A contract I prepared....you can read it as much as you want but you can only leave once you've signed it" Lushan's authoritive voice was clear.

Feilan shivered and looked at the file. This man was indeed too domineering and imposing and she had a feeling that he wasn't bluffing with his threats.

And since she didn't know him..she didn't want to accidentally insult someone who could possibly ruin her completely....and this man seemed capable of doing exactly that seeing as he even seemed to have a status higher than Yukitsa Feng.

Feilan's body shook lightly from anger. What kind of accursed luck did she have. Nothing ever went her way..nothing was ever simple for her...Shao Feilan.

She came here today hoping to indeed find a benefactor but it felt like she had walked into hell and met another nightmare.

Was this guy really her benefactor...then where was she benefitting.

Feilan looked at him...Feilan Fashion was at its brink...she wanted to save it.

Her eyes were on fire though they seemed a bit teary but she held it all back and tried to keep a steady front.

'Don't break before this stranger Feilan' she told herself.

Lushan narrowed his eyes as a strange emotion stirred in him seeing this girl before him. It's like she was about to break.

She seemed to be battling and it was that same feeling of pity he had for the girl the night before that he was feeling right now.

Pity for this frail being even made him change the layout for the contract.

It felt strange and so he just subconsciously stared into her rather bewitching amber eyes.

Feilan took hold of the contract and quietly read through it. Her heart raced as she read it.

Her face even reddening in confusion and understanding of every detail 'Indeed this man was this man'

Lushan studied her facial expressions though his face remained cold and aloof.

Feilan thought about the terms of the contract and how some of them were related to the reason Suzen broke up with her.
