"Hey, thank goodness you are back. Where did they take you?" Nicki quickly rose to her feet with excitement upon sighting Isadora coming into Darcy's room with Darren. She left the door wide open and has been waiting for their arrival since Isadora left to fetch him for her.
She was surprised that she was able to bring him back to her because earlier before Isadora left for Darren, she complained of not knowing about his whereabouts so finding him was going to be a little bit hard, especially if the case turned out to be that they had him locked up again.
However, it seems they didn't, maybe, Darren wasn't going to be chained like an animal here again for a while. Did Nemesis let him go for real? Not that he did, since he was supposed to allow Darren to go back to the academy if he did that for real. As Nicki said before, he just released him from the chains they put on him, which used to make him look like a hardened criminal.
