Entering Nemesis' chamber, Senior Sage could observe how dispirited he was feeling, and even without being told what happened yet, she was able to tell that it probably had to do with Nicki. Their plan didn't work out, did it?
"Alpha…" She called, closing the door after she got in and interlocking her fingers between her back.
"I told you it was never going to work in the first place, didn't I?" Nemesis was standing at his usual spot, beside the window with the curtains closed. He would have loved to enjoy the wonderful morning view outside, but he didn't like the sunlight.
"You did, Alpha, you did but I strongly believed that it was going to. Maybe you did it the wrong way or…" Senior Sage trailed off, not wanting to complete her sentence. She didn't want to make it sound like her Alpha was a total failure at capturing a girl's heart.
