After learning about Darcy from Winter, Nicki didn't know how to exactly feel again after receiving news that kept her quite stunned for a minute. She knew she wasn't supposed to feel sympathetic towards Nemesis, he didn't deserve it. However, finding out how he lost his sister got her kind of emotional.
She almost even shed a tear after listening to the little real-life and heart-warming story Winter shared with her. It was so touching, especially the part where she mentioned Nemesis' sister being a weakling. She said the girl had always been so different from the others, she would get sick easily like a human which affected her in a bad way because she would fail to heal like a werewolf does.
Nicki didn't only feel sympathetic but also felt sad at the fact that Nemesis had no loved ones left. His family is late, he was the last man standing, and during breakfast with him earlier, she can recall calling him an orphan when he mistook her to be one first.
