Every single step that Nicki took to the place her guide was taking her under the Luna's order felt like she was walking straight to her execution. And the fact that she was completely helpless, unable to do anything to save herself from death made matters worse.

Nicki was too absorbed in thoughts to notice they had stopped at a place, her guides were the ones carrying her along since her body was present but her mind was absent. The guards at the door swiftly greeted the Luna with a bow and opened it for them as they all got into the place and to Nicki's surprise, she realized she was actually in the Alpha's chambers.
Was this a good sign that she might live? It seemed like, because if she was taken to somewhere else she had never been to before in this place. Then, there would have been zero chances of survival and she would have undoubtedly peed her pants.
