I stared at the punk girl named Glara who seemed to be grinning coldly standing on one of the twelve streets. Behind her stood two other people, but they weren't the two men who had messed with Aras at that time.
One was a girl with silver hair cut to the shoulders. She was wearing the same kind of clothes as the girl named Glara, only more skimpy for a girl her age. Her height was probably around 160 cm. The girl smiled sarcastically while folding her arms across her chest with a haughty face.
Then the other figure was a middle-aged man with a flat and stiff face. He wore sunglasses that seemed to be used to cover the scar on his left eye that looked large up to the eyebrow line. He was tall and wore a long shirt with a stand-up collar exactly like Father's, only different in color.
"So which one is the boy?" the silver-haired girl exclaimed while looking questioningly at me and Arga in turn.
"The one with blue hair," Glara replied briefly.
"Oh... He's so cute," she exclaimed in an artificial tone of voice. She then glanced seductively at Arga. "But the black-haired one is too attractive to ignore. Can he be for me?"
I glanced at Arga who just stood indifferently while staring intently at the girl. Meanwhile, the girl was misbehaving by herself and didn't stop smiling with a blushing face. I'm not surprised, because Arga always has an attraction that cannot be ignored by the opposite sex. Even I was tired of being an owl that was always hired by girls around the Aras settlement.
The girl named Glara seemed to be clucking furiously. "Stop it, Lana! We're not here to find a date. Our goal is to bring that boy to King Rodra."
"But what's wrong with having a little fun, this job won't be hard anyway. It would be a shame to miss out on such a handsome man."
"Stop it Lana!" this time it was the bespectacled man who called out. His facial expression is still flat, he glanced at the girl named Lana through the crack of his glasses. "Don't take them all for granted, stay focused on your work. We don't have much time left."
The girl named Lana immediately looked down sluggishly. "Alright Uncle Alto."
Glara looked back at me with her sharp dark eyes. I was no longer afraid of that girl. Even though she was stronger and had a deadly weapon, I would not lose. I had made up my mind to become a strong person and not give up easily. Although I don't know about my strength yet, I will be able to conquer her.
"You're very confident, young lady," Grandpa Kyu's voice suddenly interrupted. The old man then advanced slowly, standing between me and Arga. "You speak as if you could easily take it."
Glara turned to look at Grandpa Kyu with a serious and wary expression on her face. She was followed by a girl named Lana and the man named Alto. They seemed to be watching Grandpa Kyu closely.
"There's an Edaf here?" asked the girl named Lana with an almost laughing expression on her face. And sure enough, the girl suddenly burst out laughing even though there was nothing funny about it at all. "What can an earth bender do here?" she exclaimed with an annoying laugh. She then looked around as if searching for the object she had just said.
I was steadily annoyed at the girl, my fists clenched in anger that she had insulted Grandpa Kyu. "Shut your mouth!" I shouted in an angry tone. "How dare you insult Grandpa Kyu."
The girl still seemed to be holding back her laughter for a moment, then looked intensely at me with the corners of her lips pulled up high. "Insult? I'm not insulting, but I'm telling you about reality. So you might as well just give up, because you won't survive if a waterbender is here."
The girl suddenly made some movements with her hands and aimed at all the points above the water's surface there. Suddenly, there was a rumbling sound from under the water. The surface of the water, which had seemed calm, now rippled and gradually a large wave appeared.
A huge wave of water emerged from under the sea, covering the fog surrounding the Verittam. And it made all the entrances to the Verittam covered with a wave of water that resembled a large wall.
"So she's a Noa (waterbender)," said Father.
"Shit! All the entrances are closed," Arga exclaimed while looking around at the towering giant water wall. "What should we do? She'll be hard to beat since this is the perfect battlefield for her."
Hearing that I let out an annoyed chuckle. "What's there to be afraid of, I don't care even if she can control all that water. What's clear is that we have to win for the path to open up again."
"Don't be rash Kazo, you can't master your powers yet. And they won't be that easy to defeat," Grandpa Kyu said.
"Precisely that. I'll never know my power if I don't try to use it. Besides, I don't want to keep hiding behind you guys."
"You guys talk too much," the silver-haired girl shouted, feeling ignored.
Then a large wave of water came from two different sides, surrounding us on one of the roads leading to Verittam. The wave of water came in the shape of a huge monster with a deafening roar.
"Alluvio."
The water with an unfathomable amount of volume fell right on top of us with incredible speed.
Shit!
A deafening roar echoed right in my ears. At that moment I should have been blown into the ocean below. But I opened my eyes as I realized that I was still standing in the same place. I saw Father create a huge whirlwind with his stick. A space was created in the middle of the road that protected us from the girl's devastating attack.
"It's a good thing I still have time," Dad shouted as he continued to hold back the amount of water that kept hitting his wind wall. "But I can't hold it back any longer, this water is too big."
The wind wall only lasted about a minute, then shrank and broke up the remaining water that continued to hit into small droplets.
But it turned out that the Aryans didn't give us a chance to breathe at all, the three of them charging forward as soon as the wall opened.
The man with glasses hit Father and Arga with his wind wave. Likewise, the silver-haired girl immediately locked up Grandpa Kyu with her water wave. And that meant that the girl named Glara would be my opponent.
