Farrah stared deeply into the other's person's eyes without much feeling about her rude actions. The chill in her fingertips was still present, however, this made the girl holding onto her hand hold on even firmer and her smile become brighter. Anqing was able to physically pull Zhang Qi a foot away from Farrah now that Jing Tian interrupted. Yet instead of relief he felt, even more, choked up and frustrated as he worriedly looked at the two young women who continued to silently stare into each other's eyes. The two mutants seemed to be feeling one another out, however, knowing Jing Tian well. Anqing could see that his friend was tense in the shoulders and her legs were trembling lightly even as the smile on her face never faltered under Farrah's overwhelming pressure. He had no idea what Jing Tian was seeing and feeling. She was a scout student so he had no doubts the mass strain on her body was more obvious than them, who were oblivious to the invisible spiritual world.
Jing Tian couldn't spare a moment of thought towards her friends focusing all her might on staying in place and not falling to the floor. She couldn't see her reflection in those mutated eyes. Her lips finally quiver when the taller young woman lightly leans forward till their faces were inches apart to whisper so only she could hear. "You shouldn't recklessly stand between warrior Aniala borns like this in the future. As a weaker Aniala you could die from the pressure alone, you know?" Do you think you're special just because you are a scout mutant? In the face of a warrior Aniala, aren't you just a weakling who can see death more clearly than others? These unspoken words pierced the once confident Jing Tian in the heart who was used to getting away with sweet actions due to her special status. Frosty breath spilled over her face causing her to pale when the large mass of spiritual energy that was circulating peacefully within Farrah's body suddenly broke free spilling at their feet.
Wrapping around her shaking legs in a threatening manner making so she didn't dare look away. It was as if she was wading in a roaring river. When Jiang Tian was almost at her limit wanting to cry out of pain. After making sure the girl learned her lesson, Farrah decided to be lenient and snatch back her ability so she could breathe again. Farrah steps back taking her hand from the other's grasp easily. The frozen Jing Tian would have fallen to the floor if it weren't for the quick-handed Zhang Qi. "Jing'er!" His call alerted nearby Anialas who looked over only to see a pale mutation who weakly fell into another's embrace.
They looked back towards an ocean-eyed mutation who was watching the two quietly with a tranquil appearance as if it had nothing to do with her. However, the smarter people only warily observed this scene before looking away quickly not wanting to know what could have shaken up the white-haired mutation so badly. Mentally taking note of the newcomer who didn't have to speak a single word before already being able to make such a loud declaration of power. Anqing was also worried about Jing Tian, however, for their sake and his future as this was the person he chose to follow. Knowing to some degree that what Jing Tian did was rash and disrespectful to Wang-Mu who was about to confront someone who provoked her. Anqing swallowed the bitter feelings ignoring the rattled Jing Tian and worried Zhang Qi. He didn't foolishly hold onto the biased emotions in his heart.
They were his friends, but they also ignored his feelings and warnings. Doing as they pleased not knowing that standing before them was a straightforward Aniala who wouldn't take jabs lying down. With the bitterness, he also felt some disappointment at how stupid they were making him look worse in Wang-Mu eyes. Already, when he stepped forward to stand by her side again with pursed lips he could see the faint dismissal in her eyes when she looked over at him. Zhang Qi was stunned when he saw Anqing firmly keep his mouth shut and continued to stand by the other girl's side after what she had done to the delicate Jing Tian. Conflicted but feeling more betrayed than angry, Zhang Qi held Jing Tian up with one hand while calling Anqing disbelievingly. "Anqing what are you doing? Jing Tian is hurt because of her!"
In the corner of his vision, he saw Wang-Mu's lips quirk up again showing she didn't find them worthy of entering her eyes anymore. Anqing who never found his friends to be so naive and brash before now felt even more disappointed in their preschool-like temperaments. This wasn't the cushy Aniala academy anymore, they were military students but failed to uphold the amount of discipline and dignity a late contender and outsider did. However, even in the face of these facts, Anqing still expressed a brief moment of hesitancy when he met Zhang Qi's baffled and hurt expression. Farrah waited for Anqing to answer Zhang Qi's question with mild amusement.
"...Jing Tian should be happy that Wang-Mu went easy on her despite the things she did." Despite being scared witless, Jing Tian also couldn't help looking up at the gentle and friendly Anqing who spoke so cold-heartedly at this moment. He wore a stern and unwavering expression of disapproval looking at her seriously. What...? Anqing, isn't Anqing their friend? Why is he taking someone else's side?
Zhang Qi was now officially stunned that the person he thought to be kind and warm like the sun just moments ago worrying about him and his family had changed so suddenly. Feeling a bit guilty, Anqing didn't dare to meet Zhang Qi's eyes as he leaned over to speak with Wang-Mu speaking gently in comparison. His words rendered his friends speechless "I apologize for their disrespect, although they're not late entries right now all first years have just been taking entry courses and haven't entered military training yet. It's only been a month since we exited Aniala Academy." To translate; Everybody was new to the Adult Aniala world so they didn't take the things taught to them as seriously yet.
Farrah also knew a bit about this, but it didn't change the fact that she found it comical that the qualifications had fallen so low. No wonder the Aniala military was such a mess right now. "They're your friends, for your sake, I'll forgive them this one time." Anqing could only breathe a sigh of relief after Wang-Mu said this, his tense posture relaxing after her reassurance. "Thank you, Wang-Mu." I choose correctly. But right now to ensure the same thing doesn't happen again in the future.
Anqing stiffly made his way to the balcony for some privacy gesturing at Zhang Qi and Jing Tian to follow him. "Zhang Qi, Jing'er, I have something to say to you two." Farrah doesn't mind the dagger-like glower Zhang Qi is sending her as Anqing helplessly and angrily confronts him for his behavior. No longer able to keep a straight face after the other person still failed to learn their lesson. "Zhang Qi!" Farrah chuckled not sparing them another glance. It's a shame someone with such potential was so bullheaded, if he received proper training he could have been able to stand on her level as well.
He can still reach decent potential if he learns how to be humble and reign in his possessive and territorial temperament. Hopefully, he learned quickly and didn't waste his talents. Otherwise, he would just be another juicy piece of meat for the Awoken to chew on. But that wasn't any of her business. She was only here at her master's persistence. Drilling the rules of the military into her was as easy as slipping on a pair of heels for her if it meant taking one step closer to finding her master again. Understandably there would be stronger Anialas in the future, but she wasn't afraid.
It was only a few minutes after Anqing left when she felt some rather strong auras approaching the building. Automatically assuming them to be the professors, she found she was right when she turned to look at a side entrance where seven smiling and unsmiling faces appeared. Their clothes were decorated with some badges of honor, the highest ranking seemed to be a Lieutenant. Although she had no idea how the person managed to find the time in their schedule to teach some children, judging from his serious disposition she knew not to take the man lightly. The gold fluctuation of spiritual energy solidified at his side dragging his shadow until a physical soulmate made its appearance.
The large gold deer with long powerful branching antlers, the Aniala snorts and hoofs the floor with intelligence and equal solitary eyes like his soulmate. The man and deer were the first to spot Farrah, their eyes narrowing in sync. She did not shy from his stare which didn't express open surprise like the rest, he was relatively calm. Farrah wasn't a fool like the others, so after realizing he was scrutinizing her as she was him. She was the first to avert her eyes out of courtesy, covering her mocking smirk with her glass. If he is dumb he will pick a fight with an examinee staring, if he is smart he will come to her himself once she passes the exam.
But given the fact that his Aniala is as such, she doubts he would make such a small issue into a big one. Only fools would believe herbivores were weak in comparison to carnivores. Seeing as the highest ranking member took the lead, the others also released their Anialas taking him as an example. The students who weren't Scouts finally noticed the professors arrived and paid close attention as the adult Anialas started mingling with the crowd. Either going to meet familiar faces or impressive students who caught their eye. The examinees, however, were blatantly ignored and excluded from this privilege of formally meeting the most elite-ranked people in this event.
The ones used to this treatment stood to the side peacefully as their friends and or family received preferential treatment knowing better than to intrude. Any interjection they tried or attempted to make would be looked upon as petty and reflect poor manners or character. The ones who weren't used to being treated as such would flush red with embarrassment as feelings of inferiority started to eat at them from the inside; Not aware their fluctuating spiritual auras were obvious for talented Aniala scouts to spot. Even keen warrior Anialas with proper training could tell there was something nasty hidden in a person's heart if they looked hard enough. Farrah observes this scene with the complete mind and attitude of an onlooker.
"Wang-Mu." Anqing reappeared with two less tails, Farrah had no idea what he said to get rid of them or cared much about what happened between them. From the young man's unbothered appearance and lack of disturbance in his energy, she assumes it went well. After reaching her side he offers her his arm for her to lean on since Farrah in every setting they met was usually used to being at ease. She took it thoughtlessly, though almost eye to eye with her Anqing didn't find her heavy at all. He even had the energy to smile and ask her if she was tired.
Farrah handed him the empty glass in her hands which he diligently took and waved over a waiter to retrieve for her. "I'm not a delicate woman." She nods in a certain direction where a girl is shifting uncomfortably in her heels with a strained smile towards her companions. Anqing gave a weary smile as the ancestor leaned her entire weight on himself without being polite. "Don't you find weaker people pitiful?" To this, she finally sent him an incredulous look "I'm no man." Anqing laughs before correcting her understanding of his question.
"I mean, don't you also feel a desire to protect weaker things? You saved me when we first met did you not?" Farrah paused and seemed to be in deep thought, Anqing waited for her answer filled with some curiosity. It was rare for this indifferent woman to actually think hard about anything he asked. Most of the time she would just give him a simple answer and be done with it all. After digging a bit deeper within, Farrah finally hums faintly much to his surprise answering honestly with an undisturbed countenance. "Perhaps. You did look pitiful in comparison to your opponent."
"...." Anqing who was described as pitiful by a woman younger than himself by two years during their first meeting felt his brow twitch before he reluctantly accepted this title of "Pitiful thing" in silence. Ok, I'm the one who asked her anyways. He changed the subject after looking around a bit for his brother. "Did you see my older brother yet? I told him I'd be bringing a friend of mine today and told him what you looked like."
Farrah was quick to connect the dots and plainly said "Ah. That was your brother." "...You didn't do anything to provoke him did you?" Anqing was cautious when asking this, he was rewarded with a cool and sarcastic side-eye. Clearing his throat, he also pretends he didn't ask such a dumb thing. "It's just-" "Stop speaking." Anqing obediently shut his mouth, sparing her a fawning smile afterward earning a snort from Farrah. "Perhaps playing the pig for all these years has degraded your brain for real." Anqing appeared serious for a second replying solemnly looking at her and with some sincerity. "To be honest, I sometimes think the same way as you." Farrah finally cracked a tiny smile because of his efforts.
