Chapter 56 - Progression

Tiffany may not have improved her combat skills to the point of being a master of fighting in hand-to-hand combat, but she could pick up some useful things and learn how to apply them to herself.

Not only had she been taught the basics of hand-to-hand combat through sparring, but she had also been taught a little about using things like knives and guns.

Her expertise with them was very low, but it was not to the level of a complete beginner who would wave around a knife recklessly or not know the basics needed to fire a gun.

She knew how to hold them in a proper stance so that she could use them without them being harmful to her.

The kickback from gunfire could always cause harm to the person holding it if they were not careful and her body was less durable than most ordinary humans so she had to be just as careful.

Those who did not hold knives properly or used the wrong type in combat usually ended up with their own hands getting cut by the blade.

If they were not too careful then they could just as easily fall on their weapon after losing their balance or having an opponent that took advantage of openings to turn people's weapons back against them.

If a basic stance and how to properly hold them was not taught then it would be too dangerous for Tiffany to be allowed to use them so Butch made sure to drill the basics into her.

It was unknown if guns would ever be needed but Tiffany stated that she wished to learn how to aim and shoot too.

She did not know what her other toys capabilities would be but she expected that there would be some that could fire some things from a distance.

If she could not aim them properly then their functions would be wasted too.

After Tiffany and Butch finished their training session, they began going back to their regular daily duties.

Tiffany was busy contacting people related to her contacts and businesses so that some more deals could be finalized and some of her plans could be expanded further.

Butch disappeared from the room and turned up in a room that had a large table in the middle of it that took up most of it.

Many chairs were placed all around the table and at the head of the table at the back was a large muscular man.

His appearance was very intimidating that even Butch felt quite threatened by them.

There was something instinctual that made Butch feel intimidated by them but there was also a slight feeling of rejection too.

Perhaps it was within the nature of his Bulldog Quirk that made him feel that way.

It was no surprise that he felt that way since the Quirk that that person possessed was also an animal type and not only that but it was within the feline category.

Not only was it within the feline category that did not always have a good relationship with canines but it was not an ordinary feline and was instead a tiger.

Rather than the average smaller felines that were made into house pets, tigers were predators that were on a whole other level when it came to natural prowess and how dangerous they were.

Not only did they possess great brutal strength but other advantages the moment they were born possessing such a Quirk, they did not slack off during the years they had been alive so far.

Not only was his body like that of a tiger but it was more like a furry hybrid of a human that walked on two legs.

Just like all other humans that were born with some form of animal Quirk, they could learn how to push their abilities and physical capabilities further through constant practice and by training their bodies.

Those blessed with such advantages had a head start in terms of physical prowess but others could surpass them through training.

That person seemed like the type who did not rely on what they gained from their Quirk alone which made him even more formidable and oppressive to be around.

Even Butch who had come up in the ranks quite well still had to be very wary around that person.

Many others were beginning to get seated all around the table getting quite comfortable.

A meeting was beginning as everyone turned their attention toward the person seated at the head of the table who was the possessor of the Tiger Quirk.

They awaited his every word in silence and an intimidating pressure enveloped the room causing the silence to be filled with dread.

A person standing to the side began to speak. "Good. You are all quiet so this can begin smoothly. You all have not seen boss Max for quite some time but here he is. I hope that you all will listen well."

Their tone was very serious as they introduced the person seated there.

It did not seem like it was just any regular meeting and the person named Max was not an ordinary figure in their gang.

From the way he was called boss, it was clear that he held a position somewhere near the top.

It was quite clear from how everyone was either in reverence toward him or feared him even before he was introduced that he was someone they could not cross and that meant that he was either the head of the gang or someone who was a very big player in the gang.

Not even those who had a seat at the table could be so bold to speak up or create a scene in front of him so it was clear that he greatly outranked them all.
