"That's enough!" Fred snapped at the goon.
The man shook, fearing what his manager would do next. But the goon constantly glanced at Ayse… making the ride extra slow for that goon. Because he was more afraid of Ayse than he was of Fred.
"Come on, Freddy," Ayse groaned in disappointment. "Don't be like that. I'll be talking with someone to pass the time. Unless you'd rather travel in silence."
With one shake of his head, Fred said, "... Silence would be best–"
"So you will talk with me! Then why'd try to act cool and quiet, Freddy?" Ayse shouted over the posse manager. "Was it because you think I don't know you?"
Fred closed his eyes while raising his eyebrows, taking in a deep breath to keep quiet.
"But I do know you, at least a little bit," Ayse continued. "You'd be surprised how talkative Charling gets while he cowers in a corner. And I was surprised to know that you and your brother ran the orphanage long before Forde appeared!"
